He'll produce 10 woefully anonymous perfromances in a row and then knock one in the top corner in some meaningless Carling Cup tie, which will be sufficent for all those who've vehemently backed him to tell us all that "I told you he'll come good blah blah blah"

He's gonna frustrate the fcuk out of us all season, every season.

sorry rob, but he has been doing my friggin swede in now for over 18mths on kraptalk and here. He constantly criticises the players and management and anyone who disagrees with him is either mentally challenged or knows absolutely **** all about football, after all, he is the NUMBER 1 FAN. It even says it on his t-shirt he bought off some dodgy bloke at the market.
Im sick to the back teeth of this idiot and i really cant be arsed with him so im gonna put this prick on ignore from now on and i strongly advise the real fans to do the same before he makes you put a house brick through your monitor. Those that don't know him, you soon will and trust me, he really is a ****ing ****** which you will find out in time.

Ryan had the unfortunate ability to antagonize pretty much any poster on KT..however,he also makes very good posts and imho is a damned sight better than 3/4 of the posters on KT..the fact that he's posting here WILL make this site better, whether or not you agree with him or not.

for what its worth,he does have some points, which will be apparent when posters attack the post more than the poster.

Gerrard did play extremely well on RW last season, and our strikeforce was horrid.

we have made improvements on that score, and I do hold my hand up and admit that Bellamy MAY prove out to be a good buy.

                  do we need a RW?

yes, but the question is when..

we have a few players who can play there, and Gerrard HAS played well there.one issue to consider is Paul Anderson.he has played well in a number of games last season, and i really thought that this year would be his year to break into the team on RW with Gerrard returning to CM.

one point that has missed many of us is that Pennant's return will make it all that much harder for Anderson this year.

perhaps some of us are right when they say that Anderson isnt ready for the 1st team, but I'm just curious why they're so certain?..anyway,that's a moot point now.i dont see him getting many playing opportunities this year.

our current striker force is Crouch,Bellamy and Fowler (not getting into the Cisse debate).

this is simply not good enough for a team like Liverpool, especially bearing in mind the firepower our rivals have brought to bear.i'm surprised why so many posters are in disagreement with this point.

so all told, when Ryan says that we need a strker more than a RW,he may have a point.

having said that,I am glad that we have got a RW.this is a position in which he have been looking for personnel for over 2 years and its ridiculous that its taken so long.this doesnt mean we dont need strikers.

i disagree with posts which say that Pennant is rubbish.however, the fact that we paid as much as 8 million for a player that nobody else wanted does grate.

some posters have suggested that this price may eventually prove to be a snip.nothing would make me happier.

If it was last year, I would have agreed with you that our strikeforce (Cisse, Morientes, Crouch) was not good enough.

This year though I tend to disagree. The addition of Bellamy and Fowler's rejuvenation has made a huge difference for me. We could do better but I disagree with you in that I think they are good enough. Good enough in the sense that I believe it will be enough to win us the title. I know that this has been a hot debating point especially at the old Koptalk so I'm not sure I want to get myself into another argument over this...

                    Just my opinion...

one thing I hope to see is that nobody really argues over here (at least too much )

that was one of the major problems over there even before the Gestapo crackdown..

posters found it impossible to disagree without being disagreeable..i have to confess getting into my share of fights,i'm embarassed to say...

i definitely agree that the strikeforce is improved over the last year, but we also have to take into account uncertainties.

Bellamy is injury-prone.sad to say, this is a fact..and as rejuvenated as Fowler looks (and I agree on that point),its going to be a big ask for him to play 90 mins for more than a few matches at a time..i have to say that if we dont have at least ONE more good striker,we'll be in nearly as bad a situation as last year.

and before I get ripped into by the posters who say that we were 1 point behind the Scum who had Rooney and Ruud and all that,I do agree with their point.all I'm saying is that I feel we need better strikers with better finishing to turn all the potential 1-0 and 1-1 into 2 and 3 nil.

i think many posters dont seem to see just how close we are to being a VERY dangerous side.

KopiteCalling, those are two absolutely excellent posts mate, please post lots more than you have been doing.

Murder_Inc. Sorry dude but I think that post of yours above (which I'm not going to quote) is well out of order mate. We have already sin-binned Ryan for abusing other posters inc. earlier in the thread, and as Rob said he has actually responded somewhat. I realise there is bad blood between some of you lot, but how on earth can anyone ever address, deal, educate, persuade or win over anyone with the attitude you so dislike in posters like Ryan if you yourself directly attack them with abusive terminology and ferocity of intent?

I'm going to leave any deletion decision to the other mods, as I think maybe we should leave it as a good example of absolutely how not to respond. I for one do not at all subscribe to the theory that to defeat thine enemy one should become more like him.

                          thanks,Mike...

will be posting here more often...

this may also be the wrong place to say it,but I've noticed that there is a real effort to 'distance' this site from KT..whilst I agree its admirable that est 1892 is trying hard to be an alternative to KT and independent in its own right, I would venture that it may be a tad premature..

there are a lot of good posters over there who should be here..and this site can only improve with the additions of these quality posters, who sad to say wont come here UNTIL they realise (as I have been made to realise) that their site is run by a fake.

                          whoops..sorry..bit of a hijack there...my apologies

                              This sounds promising.

'Sorry lads, I couldn't get that cross in there cos I was too fcuked from having to run 70 yards. That darn Tony Hibbert's robbbed me of it. You understand don't you?'

We'll see if he's up to it soon enough. We certainly can't tell in one pre-season kickabout.

And I think you'll find the correct scouse for lad is not "lar" it's "la". I thankyou.

Yeah, you have a point there. Of course, that is the worse-case scenario but, as you said, I think it all depends on whether Bellamy and Fowler can stay clear of major injuries.

I DO agree that we could do with another striker. But I've said this many times before: I would LOVE a Henry, a Shevchenko, a Ronaldinho, or a Rooney. They would make a clear difference to our front line and go a long way towards appeasing the people on the 'other' side of the debate. HOWEVER, we DON'T have the money/resources to compete with the top European clubs when bidding for one of these players. And a lot of these top players command a huge transfer fee. As Rafa said many times before, you can teach defenders a few things in the training ground, but its hard to teach them tricks and skills. This is why I'm so happy with Bellamy. Bellamy is not world class, but under the circumstances he is quite a steal. He is definately worth more than 6 million pounds. Liverpool fans want a Henry, Rooney, Shevchenko in their side. I want them too. But I also want them to realize that it is very difficult especially under the financial restraint we are in.
