I think we won’t be able to continue the season. Can’t see any kind of football starting before July or August.
    Are we winning?

In which case resume this season at that pont, before beginning the next one. 20/21 can be reduced to allow for it, but there's no guarantee it won't also get interrupted anyway.

        That would be my vote.

I think the worry is that not many clubs will still be around if we have to wait that long. Not that it being this season or next affects that.

But I also cant see any live sport being an option until August/Sept as Fredo says. Not while the number of new cases remains so high each day.
        Modifying post.

Liverpool chief executive Peter Moore was rather alarmed when his rallying call about the importance of finishing the season met an awkward silence from representatives of the other 19 clubs during last Friday’s Premier League meeting.

Behind the scenes a number of those struck dumb last week are being far more vocal, with several chief executives actively advocating cancelling the season.

The clubs who would rather cancel the campaign didn’t voice that view in the meeting, but are reportedly starting to make their opinions known behind the scenes.

From the mail, hence not sharing. Referenced here, although not much better.

Any money to be paid back to broadcasters due to the season not being completed should be paid for by only those clubs voting to cancel the season.

Edit: **** it. No merit money for finishing the season either

So they need 14 clubs to agree. Whatever the clubs agree the rest will have to toe the line.

Its mad to think next season can carry on as normal though.

I don't know how it'll play out but the seeming rush to make a decision now doesn't make much sense to me when there's so much uncertainty in the long term.

Does cancelling the season mean the Belgian model?
                    One tit for another.

Presumably that will be up for vote too. Whether it is scrapped, ended now with current placing.

You can bet your life clubs vote would be different depending on whether it was outright cancelled and scrapped or if it was ended early with placings and Europe/relegation based on current.

Null and voiding is off the table if the PL wants to keep in line with UEFA.
They want final league positions decided one way or another, based on ‘sporting merit’.

That still leaves PL/England to decide on what to do about relegation/promotion and whether to award titles or not.

Who knows.....ultimately we are dealing with an unprecedented situation here.

It does feel like its slipping away at times though in all this uncertainty.

I'm holding onto a dream I had a couple weeks back - Henderson coming out with the PL trophy on his own with a packed Anfield in attendance. Could have been the start of the next season etc

                            Yes yes yes

Can't understand any other logic. It's ****ing unfair that teams miss out on promotion and those that should've gone down get a reprieve

There's apparently been talks about postponing international fixtures until next year until the leagues sort out their individual situations.

That's a sensible idea, especially seeing the additional travel requirements
