Yeah, it’s great planning. As seen elsewhere, a podium on the pitch in the middle of an empty stadium would look like a party that nobody turned up for.

But using the Kop as a stage, dressed in banners and flags with pyrotechnics will help take the focus away from the empty seats and should look great on TV.

Just open the doors and let the fans in.

Wish I could be there with you all for this. I’ll be watching the match from work regardless

Because your country has one of the highest mortality rates in the world and it will get much much worse if your health service is overwhelmed.

Ithere literally couldn't be a better reason for why it shouldnt.

Not saying it would be right. I won't be attending when normally of course I'd be all over it. But it went off in Leeds the other day, it went off in Coventry. It would go off anywhere, and so it's difficult to lay the blame with the people when the government has made such a mess of it.

I dont see there being a credible argument past pure caution for people not getting out and celebrating now tbh.

Why shouldn't a bit of an explosion of joy happen?

Its not an ideal world, but its been so **** and ****ing depressing this year. People need to be able to have fun again if they want.

I wont be going, which is gutting as during a normal season id be right up there. Ive got 2 others coming over and were going to wallow in our glory on Wednesday night at home. Not how I imagined it though, but itll be memorable. A proper bright-spot in an atrocious year.

We all know the risks. We all know the sacrifice. Its taken 5 months of my life away from me so far and Im sure itll be a minimum of another 5 more.
