For the first goal, Leeds had all the time in the world to pick out a pass to Harrison, the midfielder had acres of space in midfield and we did not press him quick enough. The centre backs pushed up and we seemed to end up with the full backs deeper. All in all, I’d put the defensive performance as rustiness and due to the fact that some players have just come back from international duty. Klopp mentioned that defending is not like riding a bike and that you tend to lose the collective effectiveness through lack of training. He has a point, especially with the way we play with our full backs usually so high when we attack.

But you have to be supremely confident, and supremely gifted, to think the oppo striker is many levels below you and not worry that much when there is a mistake like yesterday. I like his and Salah's confidence right now.

There’s confidence & there’s arrogance. If your team is 2 or 3 up you try those showboating type things but if the match is in the balance you knock it long to safety.

Yes.

The kit is superficial. It annoys me slightly but just an observation on my part shared by plenty. Ultimately if we win i don't care too much.

The whole defence including the keeper have been off for a while. Does it annoy me? Too right, its ****. Stick your head in the sand if you want but we are conceding lots of chances since the restart. Mainly through being very sloppy. Do I think it will get better? Of course. I just hope its sooner than later. I'm sure most will think the same.

Midfield is the same as always. Energetic if lacking in creativity. Again not too bothered as we won the league with it. Yet I think away in Europe the lack of a controller in there cost us. We were horrible in the away group stages. I'd like thiago but we can win without him. Jones cameo again stood out. Always wants the ball and looking forwards. He's a real player. High hopes.

Up top Salah looked very lively. I don't think he looked as good all last season. He was dribbling again. Passing was much better. Great finish for his second. Mane is Mane, works non stop, shoots at peoples legs a lot and looks ungainly at times but I wouldn't swop him for any other player out there. Bobby is a concern. His finishing is very poor and he's needs to get more goals or it will cost us. I want Mino to push him hard.

So it looks like I'm moaning for mosning sake but its no different to what a lot of people have said but I get pulled up. Oh well, I have a thick skin, I'm not bothered. Crack on.

On Wednesday I had to go and see my 82 year old mum in hospital (vascular dementia) where she was swinging her handbag at anyone that came near her. She didn't recognise me at first, I had to lie that I was taking her home before pushing her wheelchair into a room where she was pinned down by 4 staff and injected with a sedative. The next day I had to pick her up and lie to her again to get her to go into a care home and couldn't say goodbye to her. She now has 14 days isolation with 1 stranger at a time for covid reasons and the visits are 30 minutes once a week starting in 2 weeks. She can't have a phone because my brother emotionally abused her and may continue to do so.

That all said, I agree with most of your points but I couldn't care less about footy at the moment.

Sorry to hear this man. I lost my mum to mixed dementia 2 years ago and my dad has it know. It’s completely devastating.
