    Trent is next in line.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Bit ridiculous at this stage of the season, but Fab can hopefully do a job.
Not like the defence has been tearing it up of late anyway. Still...the sort of situation I'd have been far more comfortable with Dejan stepping in.

          We’ve got Nat Phillips innit.
          Are we winning?

I think it could be a blessing that we have seen so early into the season that Gomez and Matip cannot be relied upon to stay fit. It would have taken a serious amount of luck for us to go an entire season without both missing. I'd prefer it wasn't against Werner that Fabinho has to play CB but surely now we will find a way of funding a decent 4th choice CB?

Gomez has been an ever present for a year and a half. It’s a bit unlucky that we lose two centre halves at the same time. As for Matip, I agree he can’t be relied upon for a consistent run of games.

Fabinho was CB with Matip when we drew 0-0 with Bayern.

He’s more than capable. But we need cover because Matip seems to be constantly injured.

Fab could be a blessing in disguise. He can see an early pass and move the ball well.

is it possible to bet on us scoring a header?

Some people have been suggesting that it might be a position that he could be playing long term especially if we’ve bought Thiago.

Recently he's been fine, but since he's been here Gomez has missed about 100 games through injury so I'm still not confident he'll ever be the robust type that we can rely on.

Frustrating that we have both Matip and Gomez out and have to go with Fabinho at CB, probably the reason that Thiago makes the bench

Have they changed the ball again this year? I've noticed that sometimes the ball seems to fly straight without spin. The ball looked strange in that pass Hendo overhit

Don't they change the ball every year? It certainly seems that way.

                                Some encouraging early signs.

                                Chelsea very defensive so far.
