That's a real shame mate but I also feel in a somewhat similar position as you.

I've found watching us quite stressful of late but I think getting nervous and anxious is part of the experience, we can't win every game and score every chance, but we're doing alright, we're top of the league so we can't complain.

I do agree re posting. It's emotive and I also feel I can no longer really post in match threads after being called a miserable ******* two weeks ago by a fellow poster, so I've started restricting my posts and if a result hasn't gone our way, then I just won't leave any comment on match threads and will come off the forum.

It's a sad state of affairs that people like you and I feel we can no longer post on the forum without fear of being told we're miserable cunts or being negative. It's driving me away and it's pretty evident it's driven you away from the forum now too.

Then shaq came on during injury time and I went back to being ****ing angry at a pointless substitution that summed up the last 2 games. I'm still seething now at the abjectness of the performance. The mighty managerial brains of Big Sam, Fat Head Bruce and Scotty too Hotty have stopped us playing. Nullified our attacks. Without hardly breaking sweat. That's not good enough. But hey ho. Work tomorrow, can't ****ing wait.
It’s because we are normal again - the form of the last two seasons have been the best in the history of the club......let that sink in.....as good as this club is and what it’s won over the years the past two seasons have statistically been the best ever.

There is a chance we might not make the champions league, there is a chance United might win it, we are crippled with injuries to star players and as soon as we get people back then others go out. The football recently vs the lower sides has been a grind but that is down to mental and physical fatigue. We have guys running on fumes.......at least we are not losing games. Other sides in the past would have lost

My perspective is that we haven’t been close to our best but I get it based on the above factors.....if you then pause and review how we have done. Top of the league, when it matters (Spurs, Wolves, Leicester, Chelsea etc) we have dismissed them, win our champions league group, bought well (Jota, Thiago), blooding young players and now we have a transfer window open.

I genuinely think if we get everyone back bar VVD and Gomez, buy/loan a decent CB and avoid more serious injuries then we win the league by 10 points. If we don’t buy a CB then I’d be a bit worried as it will upset the balance of the side.

Imagine we lined up vs United with

Alisson, Trent, New CB, Matip, Robbo, Fab, Thiago, Hendo, Salah, Mane, Firmino

Big Kev, Williams, Milner, Naby, Ox, Gini, Jones, Taki, Jota

That means no place for Phillips, Shaq, Divock.....

Our squad is very strong - we just need them fit

Too predictable and world class Sunday amateur finishing by the front 3. Nothing more, nothing less. Diogo is a big miss for us

Aye Diogo seems to be a lot more dynamic in the box than the old skool of late.
          3rd place. Worst champions ever.

It’s bull**** Bob & Slinks feel they can’t post btw. Don’t always agree with them but I do share some of their frustrations. And match time is an emotional time.

Hardly like we’re not short of posters here.

The problem for me is that our drop in form coincides with Utd's improvement. Fernandes has been a massive signing for them, completely transformed them and give them belief.

I think Thiago can do the same for us, but I have a horrible feeling he's going to be injury prone, which is probably due to the fact that we currently have Matip and Kieta who appear to be made Lallanas.

You’ve become very positive since moving.

They should definitely both post. But. It is a tricky one though, as, if you fundamentally disagree with the gloomier take on things then what do you do? We were always the more likely team to win last night l, we made the better chances. We should have won.

I can totally see why the negativity can creep in. The tension of a tight title race is all encompassing. And we might not win, and we might have to watch a bang average Man U win the League. But. If they win it, what can we do? We have to suck it up. The flip side is we could go on a long winning run and storm to the title. Or we might nick it last day of the season - that would be stressful. Or lose it last day of the season. Imagine that!!!

I suppose I could understand some of the negativity if we’d properly fallen away but we’ve not. Ultimate it may well be true that if something is causing that much misery and consuming your life it may be healthier to step back from it? And I don’t mean that as in ‘stop posting’.

See Nev’s post for a proper take on our season.

Well, not taking the Fierce approach of throwing personal insults about would be a good start. Discussion between people with differing perspectives isn't usually a problem until someone does that, then things naturally turn to ****e.

I understand Bob's frustrations (and other's), as I don't think it's any different emotion to what most of us are feeling right now, but I think last night's was an overreaction a little bit. We played well (not our best but there were glimpses) and created 4 or 5 clear chances to win it. We just could not score by a combination of good goalkeeping (or lucky in parts) and unfortunate finishing.

The performance was good enough to win it and that's where I would not agree with a lot of Bob's reactions. Doesn't mean he should not post them, they are welcome, but I think it's fair to expect arguments from other people over that especially if you think we've been woeful. Then we move on. We all care here.

To be honest, i think fatigue plays a big part in our performance. We are having to rely on the same core group of players , with no rest between matches, because other members of our squad are either injured or not fit enough. We go into a match with a virtually unchanged 11, and the options on our bench are limited. It would be nice to be able to swap Mane or Salah with Jota, or Robbo with Tsimikas, put Fab into midfield to give Hendo a rest, but the managers hands are tied. To come out of this year still sitting at the top of the table is fantastic, and with Thiago back, Milner back, Jota back it feels like we will go into the new year with a much stronger squad than we have been playing with recently. All good, no need to panic yet. Fingers crossed we either get a good CB option in (loan or buy, they only have to be a step up from Phillips or Williams) or Virg astounds us with his powers of recovery.
