    That’s it in a nutshell.

At our best (we were good v Spurs also) we’ve looked miles better than any other team in the League. We just aren’t finding those levels often enough.

I think a good barometer of our play is how well Robbo and Sadio are linking up. When they start week we typically go on to play well. The ball isn’t bouncing Sadios way this year. Some sublime moments but not always as part of the team.

Also (thinking aloud) these are young guys living through the maddest of times, lots of them in a different country. They must carry the same worries the rest of us do. They will have grandparents and parents they are worried about. A lot of them will have family that aren’t able to visit. There’s loads of different factors.

It’s just not going to be a typical season.

Honestly, that was not a bad game. It's strange times and there's not a good game of football between all the teams this week.

We've had worse performances away to them even when **** hot. Just needed a bit of luck. Onwards...we go again

The last time I started a match thread, we lost 7-2.
I’m sure it’ll be fine. Enjoy.

Ultimately, we probably got off lightly tonight

Another draw and below par performance is frustrating. But we need to have a bit of perspective.

We’ve averaged a game every 3 and a half days since the 22nd of November.
And we had a similar rate of games in the period before the last International break.
Plus, almost all of our players are still playing during those breaks.

This season is an absolute slog, like no other. It’s totally understandable that our level of performance is going to be patchy. Not one other team outside of us has looked particularly good either.

Got off lightly? We were below par, but still ought to have won!

Who did the the Fulham thread?

Plus, I returned the Thiago that you broke. You’re welcome

I’ll give you the Thiago return.

I’ve long since resigned myself to not being the ‘go to’ guy for match threads. I could point to a few useful wins I’ve provided, but I’m above that.

There’s only one show in town.

We can all do that mucker

I mean of course there’s no actual correlation between who does the threads and the results.

But yes, it’s Forester’s gig. I only get involved at the 11th hour if there isn’t already a thread. And also completely understandable that FB can’t be expected to do every game, especially at the rate they’re coming at this season. It’s hard to keep track.

Watching us isn't good for my mood these days. I'm going to try not bothering and just checking out the results. You lot won't have to read all the negativity in the match thread and maybe I'll be in a happier place. I'm so stressed right now with so many things, that this thing called football is supposed to be a pleasant experience, some relief from real life, yet it's turned into anthing but. It's bad for my health and all round wellbeing. Until fans come back and var does one, I'm calling a halt to the charade. Sorry for coming across cunty. I do still hold the belief that a match thread is the place to comment at the time things are occurring, not to be read after the event. Football is emotive, everybody is different.

Damn right, if the snowflakes dont want to hear that we are playing **** then its not you thats at fault.
As you say, the match thread if for almost live respnses, and that comes with the emotional response of passionate fans.

Take that away and we might as well have empty stadiums all the time.

I think you need a hug mate.

Try and take it for what it is.

It’s good to let off some steam in these uncertain times. You’ve as much a right to be raging as others have to see it with some perspective. We currently have our team at the top of the League. It’s not all bad. Honestly, as far as ‘supporting a football team’ assignments go we’ve got it pretty easy.

Just watch the game without posting? Or post without watching the game? Dunno? If you don’t watch you miss out on the last minute wins v Spurs. Sport is ebbs and flows it’s never winning every single game.

I don't expect to win every game. I'm not entitled or stupid. I just want something to enjoy. I hated every minute of that performance until thiago came on and then my mood lifted instantly because the lad can play football. Then shaq came on during injury time and I went back to being ****ing angry at a pointless substitution that summed up the last 2 games. I'm still seething now at the abjectness of the performance. The mighty managerial brains of Big Sam, Fat Head Bruce and Scotty too Hotty have stopped us playing. Nullified our attacks. Without hardly breaking sweat. That's not good enough. But hey ho. Work tomorrow, can't ****ing wait.

Getting to see Thiago makes this draw bearable. WBA killed me. Definitely a big positive or of this game. He's like two new world class players walking into the team.

We've played 6 of the bottom teams and beaten 2. Thats not title winning performance. It wouldnt bother me so much if we werent so bloody slow and dull.

You've never over stepped anything in a match thread so if that's the main reason then no need at all..

Unbelievably frustrated myself, the whole season has been a battle against misfortunes starting with the villa game. We should be at least.. 6 points better off. But we've had to suck up a lot of bull**** instead.

The comfort for me is knowing that even without any centre backs we are clearly the best team in the league again this season. And the knowledge that if I feel like this.. It must kill Klopp and players, and will drive them on to do what is necessary, which combined with a change in fortune, and getting players back..will see more consistent results.

Oh.. and this is keeping Ole at the wheel..again.

Always said it, I don't care what anybody says in match threads, it's a match thread with live reactions!! Do what you want, say what you want... all part and parcel of the football rollercoaster, passion, anger, hyperbole, elation. There is no point in watching the match or having a forum with a match thread if you have to curb these reactions. Too many people telling other people how to supporter their football club, I really don't like that... just let people be.

Regarding the match, we were ****e. The same aimless passing vs Brom, the same sideways passing, the same predictable balls out to the fullbacks, the same Hendo angled ball over the top. Incredibly frustrating stuff vs Newcastle, Brom, Fulham & Brighton. 4 awful teams. Having one bad result can happen against a poor side but dropping points against all of them is unacceptable. Thiago back is the only thing that I took positive out of that game.

What is clear is we need more craft in the midfield, we've known that and we've bought Shaq, Keita & Thiago in to sort that but unfortunately they all love an injury. We've knee jerked at Jones, myself included. He's played too many mins imo and slows us up something awful. Vs deep lying sides things have to be much quicker to beat their setup. This slow, ponderous possession just allows these sides to get into their defensive shape. The difference when Thiago came on was so blatant, quick, crisp, forward passing. Even with a few mins cameos you can see that this guy is so far beyond anything that we have in the midfield.

We've thrown away points that would have been a nice buffer to have incase we drop some vs Saints or Mancs. Tough games coming up, as Shaggy said we usually play better vs the better sides. Leic, Spurs & Palace are all counter attacking sides, as are Untied. We were excellent vs them, so I am hoping we can up the performance vs the mancs, as it is a massive game. I am interested to see will Ole tweak the setup a bit to counter from slightly deeper positions and make his side sit in. The likes of Newcastle, Brighton, Fulham & Brom have used this tactic very effectively against us but the big difference is that United do actually have the quality to punish us.
