Problem with Bowen would be price tag, being English and at a PL club means he probably won't represent value for money, we were linked last summer and the fee mentioned was about £40m IIRC, but I think you are probably looking at double that now, which I just don't see us paying. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I remember after the 89 final we had a home game against West Ham, beat them 5-1. Think it was the Tuesday, then Arsenal on the Friday.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostTotally agree - a game on a Tuesday after an FA Cup final is taking the piss.

Think he would be in the 65m to 70m range myself.
If Salah pushed for a move this summer and we got 100m+ for him, then Bowen should be on our shopping list imo as he ticks a lot of the Salah boxes for the left footed right winger role.
He scores, he assists, he tracks back to defend, he presses, and has a bit of snide to his play. Really do think there is a top level team quality attacker in him and that he would put up even better numbers in a team like ours that would surround him with better players with a pure team ethos.
Would have him ahead of the likes of Raphinha and Antony should we be in need of a left footed right winger this sumer.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

From all accounts Bowen has the right attitude too. I could see them selling one of RIce or Bowen this summer.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostThink he would be in the 65m to 70m range myself.

They were always going to get back into it - we smashed them in the first half of the FA semi and they dragged themselves back into it.Originally posted by Mr Pink View PostBefore the game I would have said there’s no chance of us making up the goals- but at half time, purely based on how they both played on the first half, I’d have said west ham were as likely to score next, as city were. I really didn’t see them getting back into it, as stupid as that sounds now.
If it was cut to 4 goals today, I would have been able to dream that we’d get them 4 back against Southampton, and then put wolves to the sword final day…
I agree it would be a hard pill to swallow, losing on GD, but losing by 1 point is harder than losing by 20 points too- but would still rather be as close as possible..
The main thing is that they dropped points today and now need a win against Villa.
The penalty miss from Mahrez was huge, this will have further sown the seeds of doubts into the rest of the players heads. The bed ****ting hasn’t finished yet.
Hopefully Stevie can get the Villa players fired up for this - It’s obvious Phil is still smitten with LFC from this clip from the other night. I think he could be the difference maker in this game.

After watching the City game, one thing that gives me additional hope is how shambolic their defending was. Despite having very little of the ball, west ham looked like scoring every time they crossed the half way line.
If we beat Southhampton, I imagine there will be a fair few text messages of encouragement heading to agents Gerrard, Ings and Coutinho.Last edited by banditos; 16-05-22, 02:24 AM.

That’s a great clip of coutinho- will be amazing if he gets a goal/assist to hand us the title… all would be well and truly forgiven!! Couldn’t write a more dramatic way to win the title!
Agree that the penalty miss is huge- if there was no penalty and it just ended 2-2, it would have been a much more positive result for them, given the comeback… but the fact they bottled the penalty, 10 days after bottling the champions league, will be weighing heavy on their minds surely…
The only problem is they’re much much better than villa so the nerves might not be an issue, if they get an early lead. Let’s just hope that’s not the case- if they were level in the second half I could see the crowd getting cunty, and could see them turning on eachother…I don't tip

Is this the first moment in the history of tit****s that they've been referred to in a negative way?Originally posted by Fosterbloke View PostIngs, Coutinho and Watkins are a real handful. They're more than capable of scoring.
It's their tit**** defence that has me worried!

I'd be surprised if West Ham were willing to let him go for that, particularly if Rice is to leave in the summer, they won't want to lose so many big players and from what I've seen of them this year he's their best player. There is no need to sell so if they do i think the price will reflect that as well as his numbers and the fact he is English with PL experience.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostThink he would be in the 65m to 70m range myself.
