Would have loved to have hammered the spiteful lot but pleased how we managed the game.

If we hammered them we'd probably have ended up with a few more injuries as they would have really kicked lumps out of us.

Hopefully they don't make it through the group stage and it's good riddance to them
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Some people are never happy… really, the old trafford performance was annoying? Today’s performance was annoying? Both those games we just controlled it once they were down to 10 men, without really pushing for more goals. Yes it was frustrating that we didn’t win against chelsea but they put everyone behind the ball after going down to 10 men, and are a very difficult team to break down.

We have 13 points from the 15 available when we played against 10 men this season… very annoying alright

Depends if you take my comment to heart or not.

Yes I found it ****ing annoying from me wanting us to smash into teams and hammer them. Certainly not annoying from a result point of view at all. Excellent job done here and at Utd.

I just think it is a slight issue going forwards later in the season. Give us the ball and onus to score and create and we look ordinary at times. We are always at our best attacking fast and going at teams full pelt.

I think it's part of the reason we will draw too many games.

But hey ho, time will tell. Injuries are a bigger concern.

25 games unbeaten Bob. A club record joint with Paisleys 82 team. We are averaging 3 goals a game this season. Top scorers in the PL. We’ve only not scored 2 v Chelsea the only game this season where we’ve only scored one goal. 29 league goals in 10 games is ****ing phenomenal. 13 goals in 4 CL games…

That’s us qualified from a tough group beating the Spanish Champions home and away scoring 5 against them doing so.

I don’t know what you are expecting to see? Its competitive sport not FIFA on the PS4, played against other teams who need and want to win as well.

I prefer to look at the long term picture - managing the game means more rest for Sunday, fewer opportunities for our players to get injured through last ditch tackling or over exertion.

We effectively conducted a training session for the second half and sent a message to everyone in the competition.

I think it takes more courage to do what we did than keep going for goals.

At what point have I said we're **** and I'm not impressed.

It's very good form. We're scoring goals. All looks rosy. I was being greedy critical in saying I wanted us to humiliate utd and score 7, 8 or 9 because we'll never have a better chance. I don't apologise for that nor should I need to. It was a brilliant performance, I just wanted even more! I'm a greedy goal cunt.

Chelsea I thought we were poor second half and completely lacked any idea how to break down 10 men. This takes me onto the point I was getting at, that when team pack men I still think our inability to create at that point will hamper us. We score when pressing hard and playing quickly on the break. Rarely when the likes of hendo have time on the ball.

Today we were fantastic. But we should have kicked on against 10 and get at least another which I guess for an armpit jota did. There was a spell where we went for it second half and then we probably rightly conserved energy.

But for varying reasons I was merely stating we have failed to score a single goal versus 10 men, 3 times this year. Despite having this amazing attacking team. That is probably a record stat in itself for a team in anyone cares to investigate.

I do think as impressive a stat as 25 games unbeaten is, I'm not getting carried away yet unlike some of you lot. It's very early and we've won nowt. Sometimes losing the odd game is actually better than staying unbeaten if you end up with lots of drawn games. I think our defence is weaker than it was when we won the league despite the same players. I'm happy, it's all good but I want trophies otherwise it counts for zip.

A lot of cliches there eh I’m not getting carried away either, but it’s a very impressive start to the season.

I still disagree and don’t see issues in our attack. Games when good teams sit back with ten are historically tough. We beat Athletico both times kind of defeating your point. The only game then was Chelsea, no mugs, current CL winners and arguably title favourites. Just to reiterate, we average 3 goals a game this season. Our attack is functioning well just now (except for that 45 mins) there is no pattern a lot all or evidence we struggle to break teams down. We won 3 of the 4 games v 10 men. When we’ve dropped points it’s been defensive lapses. I’ve also noticed we lack balance in midfield a. When Fabinho doesn’t play and b. When Curtis does. I think he is the least disciplined of our midfield and doesn’t press well.

For my money, we can and will improve.

                        100% agree

As a fan I would have liked to see us get another 2/3 against United. If we really went for it, double figures wouldn’t have been unthinkable, if they had collapsed after the red…

But we’re playing 2 games a week, love that we turned it into a training session. And again tonight- at 2-0 we did what we needed to do against Brighton, just control the game and take the sting out of their game. Did Allison need to make a single save?

As I said above, frustrating that we weren’t able to score against 10 men chelsea, but no concerns with any of the other performances against 10 men, certainly not concerned that we only beat united 5-0 and only beat athletico 2-0, haha.

This team isn’t quite at the same level as the title winning side atm, but our ability to score goals is. No concerns there, agaisnt 10 men or 11 men.

4 out of 5! Leeds, United, Athletico x2! I’m only nitpicking cos it strengthens your point, haha

It'll be interesting to see what we do for the dead rubbers.

A win is worth more than the League Cup final and the FA cup. Even a draw comes in nearly a million.

So it'll be strong but maybe splattered with Origi and Minamino.

Yep, after the game Klopp even pointed out the money involved when asked if he’d now rest players in the last 2 games.

We’ll rotate of course, but only from the same group of players we’ve been rotating in the PL and CL all season. Agree that Origi and Taki will probably be as deep as we go as far as starters, with a few youngsters on the bench, injuries permitting.
