Fab, Hendo, Thiago or Jones
Thats the midfield.
Now I would be very much in the start Fabinho, Thiago and Henderson if they are fit camp, but Chamberlain had a very good game midweek so to say he was not that good in that game is wrong imho.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Don’t worry - if he becomes consistently good we won’t dredge up all the posts where you said he was finished
I’d personally have Ox ahead of Jones right now.
Yeah I wouldn’t have agreed at the start of the season but the Ox is getting better recently
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I also agree. Just.
Jones is a bit of a concern for me. Save him for the lesser teams. He's an awful lot to learn at the top level. Some on here had him ahead of Foden a year ago. He's nowhere near that wee cunt.

It's one of those two alongside Ox at the moment.Originally posted by greenturnip View PostThiago, Hendo n Fab is bit one paced for me. Need someone that can break lines with speed. Hence Ox being important at the moment.
That said I don't think I want to see a Hendo, Thiago and Ox midfield.
Basically we need two more defensive mids to compliment a Thiago, Jones or Ox.Was muß, das muß.

Foden looks to be a generational talent, no doubt about it and Pep has managed his introduction to the side superbly over the past few years. I don’t know why Jones gets as much stick as he does (especially on Twitter) - he has just turned 20, has around 50 appearances and 17 g/a in those games.Originally posted by labourRed View Post

In many of those games he has superb and I remember him shining in a particular run of games last season. But he is 20 and is still learning the game so will blow hot and cold. I just checked Transfermarket and in Gerrard’s first two seasons he played 43 games and had 1 goal and one assist........
I’m not saying Curtis will be anything like him or even Foden but for a player of his age he is doing superbly well in a side that challenges for the league and champions league. I still believe that in 4/5 years he’ll be in of the best midfielders in the EPL

I don't really remember the Foden /Jones comparisons, others have said about Foden's talent, but for me one other thing to consider is that Foden largely plays as a forward, whereas Jones plays as a midfielder. Foden can concentrate on attacking play whereas Jones has more defensive and positional responsibility. That is often the area of the game that takes the most time to develop. I don't think you can really try to make the comparison between the two.Last edited by Exiled_red; 07-11-21, 11:01 AM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Foden will outdo Jones on the headline stats because he plays in an advanced position. I think he will also be worth more than Jones because of this. That said, Jones plays a position where experience counts for a lot and is starting to consistently play well. He has experienc around him and could be a Liverpool great if he continues to develop. Not fair to compare to Foden really, they play different roles.Akloppalypse Now !

Curtis is a great player also, the big concern for me is his positional discipline. He is more of a maverick than we typically have performing in our midfield. Therefor at times he doesn’t press as well or gets caught out or bypassed when we press, and doesn’t have the pace to recover.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostFoden looks to be a generational talent, no doubt about it and Pep has managed his introduction to the side superbly over the past few years. He has that creativity though, however he needs to kick on to show us he can be trusted. As you say he is still young and all the signs suggest he has the quality to make it.
For me it is no coincidence that in the games where we have leaked goals - Brentford, City, Brighton - he has started. I also noticed this during our horror run last season. He got caught in possession a few times and we let in some pretty shocking goals.Modifying post.

Looks really good for his age, and given his age he will understandably have a few dips in form. What I do like about him is when he does have a less than steller outing, you can see in the next game he starts that he has been working hard on whatever he fell down on in the previous game.
Things like positioning and anticipation will come in time for him. For me he needs to be starying with two senior partners in the middle as often as possible rather than being part of midfield trios where he does not have the senior hands around him to both help him through games and allow him the freedom to express himself more with the advantage of having savvy players to cover him when needed.Last edited by Doc_Piptorious; 07-11-21, 11:44 AM.I don't hate people. I don't hate him at all. I wish he was the player he was before that injury, but the facts are he's nowhere near that player anymore and barring a miracle won't ever be again. He's been very very average when he has been fit and the odd moment in games doesn't make me believe any different.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostWhat is with your irrational hatred

I hope these posts get dredged up, because that will mean he's turned it all around. But i'd wager they never will
