Just heard Arteta on the radio, essentially saying they were the better side they just didn't take their chances. Maybe I was watching a different game but I can only think of 3 good chances that they had, two early on (first 10 mins or so) one of which was the freekick Kelleher saved, and Lacazette's chance early ish 2nd half which he blazed well over. I thought we were fairly comfortable after the first 15 mins or so and once we went in front we really controlled the game. I thought Arsenal were disappointing, Saka and Smith-Rowe offered very little, Martinelli was by far their most threatening player but to be honest he was probably the only one.

After all the crap their fans were giving it about the first game being postponed their team barely turned up

Our performance last night was class. Composed and controlled and kept an Arsenal side who tried to play toe to toe and thought they’d bully us into submission. The gulf in class was quite big, even us without 4 world class players.

The **** I’ve read on here and continue to read about us not being good enough, especially the midfield, when going through an understandably rough patch given the situation, is laughable and boring.

This team is one of the great Liverpool sides and to even mention that we’re average in some areas is insulting.
