I'd say he's a bit better than that. I'd say the only managers objectively better than him in the Premier League are Pep, Klopp, Tuchel and Conte. It's arguable after that.

Not sure he's as good as he believes he is, but he is a decent manager who just doesn't seem to be able to balance attack and defence very well.

He also has a personality flaw as can be seen when he threw the players under the bus the other day. That was pathetic.

I thought their main issues this year have been injuries. They had a third of their squad about at some point and missing their best players. Bound to disrupt a season, look at ourselves last year.

I would not discount Leicester tomorrow, they’re bound to bounce back and they’ve got quality. I think we’ll beat them, but not going to be an easy game.
      Are we winning?

Would have Moyes over him. Far more proven and has shown that he can learn from mistakes and adapt his tactics, especially since going to West Ham. You watch West Ham now and they can go at teams that sit back, but they can also adapt to a stronger team and play a slightly different game against the better teams.

Potter I think is a far more progressive and adaptable manger than him too and Potter has shown that he can work with different groups of players and get his methods to stick quickly and that he can adapt his tactics in game as well as on a game by game basis. Plus Potter has a lesser squad in terms of overall quality.

Thomas Frank I had a a maybe but if he continues for another season or two as he has been doing, then would put him above Rodgers especially if Rodgers continues to show no improvement on what seems to go wrong for him in competitive leagues (defensive issues, rigid tactics) where he does not seem to be able to adapt his teams to be able to play against different levels of teams.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Remember that time when everyone was fit?

          Hendo a doubt for Leicester.

I'll take that. That must have been from the time he dumped himself on his back.

I thought Diaz would be out after having had his knee stood on. Those South American's are built of different stuff, Suarez was the same.

They sacked Raneri the season after he won the title.

I'm not looking forward to it. We've already dropped points against them (although if Salah had scored that penalty who knows), but it points to a style challenge.

Although they'll definitely start with different players since they played us last.

Maybe they've mentally accepted midtable, who knows.

CONFERENCEHow Mohamed Salah will channel his AFCON agony for Liverpool and Egypt

Jürgen Klopp empathises with Mohamed Salah’s Africa Cup of Nations disappointment but has backed Liverpool’s No.11 to channel his feelings positively.

Salah was back at the AXA Training Centre on Tuesday, less than 48 hours on from Egypt’s penalty shootout defeat to Sadio Mane’s Senegal in the AFCON final.

Klopp said on Wednesday: “He is very disappointed obviously. It was a massive thing. Losing a final is always really, really hard – I can sing that song.

“But losing the way they lost it is especially hard and that’s what he felt as well. So yes, he is happy to be back but he is disappointed as well, massively so.

“We spoke obviously about the tournament and everything and we will see. He will deal with that of course and I hope that today it will already be better, but yesterday everybody could see he still has the final in his mind.”

Salah is in contention to return to club action against Leicester City on Thursday night and Klopp was asked whether his top scorer could now be even more motivated for success.

“Greater determination than Mo already had? I’m not sure that’s human,” the boss replied.

“The experience always… like playing a tournament, not knowing where it will go to then qualifying in the hardest possible manner for the final.

“Then against the favourite to win the tournament, playing a game like Egypt played was an absolutely great final when you think about what they already invested before, both teams, and how hard they fought. Especially Egypt, how hard they fought to keep them quiet, these incredible talents of Senegal.

“So yes, that all helps in the long term but I don’t think there’s a lot of space for more determination in Mo’s mind. He is very determined and using these kind of things is a job for all of us.

“When you lose a final, and we are obviously the best example for that, that’s really hard, really, really hard. But if you use it for the next big game or the next big tournament then it can be at least helpful even when it was still hard.

“So he will benefit from it, we will benefit from it, but in which kind exactly, I don’t know.”

Think there could be genuine questions asked about his ability to make in game changes to his tactics as well.

His transfer record is a bit spotty too, so do not think I would be overly worried about him being handed the purse strings were he to get the job for the Mancs.

Trying to think of a stand out transfer made since he took over at Leicester and most of their best perfromers were at the club when he arrived.

Tielemans was there on loan when a pre agreed buying price when he arrived. Barnes, Maddison, Soyuncu, Vardy, Schmeichel, Iheanacho, Mendy, Ndidi and Pereira he inherited from previous managers.

His best buys so far, and the jury is still out on them imo, are probably Perez for £30m, Daka for 25m -30m, Castagne for 21m and Jannik Vestergaard for 15m -20m.

So not like he has an eye for hidden gems.

Throw in the fact that the Manc back line is built around a guy Rodgers was happy to let go without any fuss and I could see his attacking style of setting up a team coming a cropper with that lump at the back for him.
Agree that defensively his sides are not the best but they don’t need to be if they outscore the opposition and that strategy was a slippery piece of grass as way from winning the title.

Disagree he isn’t good tactically though. Transfers, I think he’s average but the incoming manager at united with that squad shouldn’t have to need to be great at them, perhaps they need a good centre back and 1 or 2 CMs but that’s about it and in theory they should have a squad good enough to challenge for a title based on talent.

It’s also not true Leicester weren’t fussed about letting Maguire go, they held out for 80 mil or so.
                      Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

Our players need to remember not to celebrate too close to the Anfield Road end if we score at that end in case one of their fans runs on and starts windmilling at them.

I think we need to get loads of fans tweeting some really rough pubs as very suitable for Leicester fans to drink in before the game. Ones where the regulars might put up a bit more resistance than a family having Sunday lunch
