Anyhow, in my view, Diaz was our best outlet, but Thiago was clearly injured and not finding his full range of passes, so we didn't use Diaz effectively. I would have left him on and hooked Salah though. Agree that we looked better when firmino came on, he had loads of space, but no runners. Salah was predictable.

Yeah, of the 9 saves, there were of course some routine ones among them. None of the 4 highlighted in those images were half hits, scuffed or straight at the keeper though.

They call us the unbearables but I woke up to 70+ messages. Jokes on them, losing to god moed Courtois hasnt upset me as much as I expected. This season has worn me out and I'm more than happy its over despite the ending. I can relax now.

Three finals and no goals though, that’s a shocker.

We owe our second string a lot, they got us into the position of two domestic finals which the first team limped over the line on pens. And tonight, we couldn’t turn the easiest CL knockout run we could have hoped for into the trophy in the final.

Without wanting to sound too negative, we’re not as good as we think we are (best LFC side ever? ) Good enough against the rest, but not when we play the best. We were until mid season, but salah and Bobby falling off a cliff and Jota doing similar has left us short. Our trophy haul this season is probably a fair reflection of where we are now, but we were probably as close to winning nothing this season than winning the quad, penalty shootouts are a lottery after all.

We cannot go into next season hoping that Mo Salah regains form, he may do, but he might never be that player again. We don’t know and cannot rely on it. Whether he goes or stays, we need to sign his replacement this summer.

We definitely need to strengthen and make some hard decisions. While our game has evolved, I still think we need to add someone with energy in midfield. Madrid did really well to stop Robbo delivering last night and when this happens having a dynamic central midfielder would really help. Cover for Trent is also essential.

I think this is fair. We haven't done well against the very best this season. Midfield needs some numbers and we can't continue to rely on Salah to be the difference maker, another body up front would be helpful.

Absolutely fine with the club allowing Salah to leave for free next year but hopefully a full preseason gets him back to where he was.

I agree with a lot of that, but, I think we are as good as people are saying.

4 defeats in an entire season tells you this. That doesn’t suggest a team that struggles with anything. The number of points accumulated tells you this. The performances tell you this. Less good Liverpool teams won the League.

We will never be in the Quadruple position again, and maybe that’s a good thing. One less semi final or quarter final May have landed us one of the trophies we desire.

I agree on the three finals no goals situation though. Some thought needs to go into why? We played well in all of these games created lots and lots of chances and didn’t score a single goal…

We came into the game with most of our forwards off form in front of goal. Salah's goalscoring form has been poor since ACN, Jota's been off form for the last couple of months, Firmino has hardly played, Diaz' contribution overall has been good but hopefully he can add a few more goals to what we've seen so far, Mane has been on a good run recently but that's about it. We have little goal threat from elsewhere in the side (Fabinho had a good run coinciding with the ACN which was useful), but if our forwards don't score we have a problem. For last few years there have been few periods where we struggled for goals now was just a bad time to hit one.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Jota was in great form until Diaz got here and he got lost his spot on the left and then has just gotten sporadic starts whilst Salah toiled away on the right losing possession over and over again.

We've had too many draws against big teams this season.

6 draws out of 10 games to City, United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs.

A clinical striker should be looked at, even as a succession plan for Salah.
