:handshake; Makes a welcome change from the ‘always the victim’ narrative that has made me steer clear of too much on Twitter. Someone like Kelly Cates knows only too well how quickly the wrong narrative can take hold.
It’s so depressing that she felt obliged to point out why this is important even if you are not a Liverpool supporter, but she did it brilliantly.
Thanks for posting that Buzzo - a good but grim read. I don’t know want to stereotype but you could see the lads jumping the fences were not Liverpool fans…… the local hooligan crews looking for some soft marks. French police are notoriously aggressive yet here they stood back and did nothing - imagine taking your kid to that…….it would put them off for life.

Yep. That’s absolutely scarring for adults let alone kids.
I can only assume the difference here is the lack of French representation on the pitch and in the stands as the Stadium holds at least 2 capacity Rugby internationals every year.
Marine Le Pen making hay on it. Obviously for her the problem is the immigrants of St Denis. A simplistic handy call for her but will sit well with all those who are scared to go there.
Just reading again what the French are saying it seems that the 70% of people who got in with fake tickets only got in to the area of the stadium i.e. past the first check point. If the check points were checking tickets as they claim why were they let through, if they weren't checking tickets I assume that they can only be guessing at the number of fake tickets based on how many people they think got through the various check points so there is little to no evidence to support these claims. The various reports from fans are suggesting that tickets weren't being checked or couldn't be scanned because the machines were broken or weren't in place, whatever that comes down to poor organisation by the French, UEFA and the police.
Again if there were so many fak tickets which were indistinguishable from the real ones then clearly there is an issue with how secure the tickets are in the first place, maybe UEFA should do something about that...
Maybe UEFA should ensure more tickets go directly into the hands of the clubs involved rather that the BS ballots and sponsors that get them, many of which get sold on at massively inflated prices. I saw reports of a couple of people having their tickets cancelled for selling them on (I think it was on here), but with so much demand and so many people selling real tickets on the black market it makes it easy for people to sell fakes through similar means.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
