It sounds immense at times with the noise the rugby crowds make and even that made by the crowds for the ROI footy team. Tens of thousands of LFC supporters would sound glorious there.
The few hundred thousand more in the City would make it bounce from the outside too. Can you imagine what a party that would be, with how easy it is to get over by ferry or air.

Still hoping for fourth, but if we have to miss out one season this is probably the one!

16,000 extra seats to be fair. Lansdowne was 36,000 as an all seater.

CL is the hope, EL is the back up hope

Me too. The ****ing **** show is a ****ing embarasment. People hanging onto pointless hopes of CL and EL qualification. The form is little better than relegation form, how we are not in that dogfight is baffling

92pts last season, a single point from winning it, and the CL Final. Our spectacular fall from grace is possibly the fastest ever!

Have we had our day in the sun?

It does seem that way, back to the drawing board. I don't think any of us can fathom wtf has happened to be honest. It's just bizarre, I can't explain it.

The weird thing is, there were some signs at the back end of last season of what was to come. I think most of us chose to ignore them, as we were relentlessly winning, chasing an unprecedented quadruple, and put the signs simply to the marathon season. There were chunks of games where we were machines, pin point passing, speed, pressing monsters, and then we'd drop off massively and hold on. This season, we've struggled to even muster up 20 minutes of intensity per game.

I also do believe it's been compounded by our pre-season preparations, and however we chose to handle our fitness and conditioning due to the mid-season World Cup break. I was also curious on Jaco's stuff about how we've changed our recovery and analytics programme, and whether that's had an impact.

I just hope we get a reputable Sporting Director, and have a good clearout.

As for European football, I think it'd be brilliant for our squad as a whole, due to game time, but perhaps it would be good without it for a year, just for the whole club to reset, refresh, and focus on implementing our principles of play.

We finished on 69 points the season after our 99 point title winning season.

We have shown both sides of the coin. That we can collapse right after a great season and that we can go have a monster season right after a collapse.

Bring in four or five fighters this summer (starters and squaddies) and watch them either displace those that have lost the stomach for the fight or drag the passive current lot into the fight with them.

I have been banging on about our piss poor midfield for a couple of years.
Often shot down as others mentioned our results...
We were being propped up by our great attackers and salah on world class form, and our decent defence with vvd in cheat mode.
The goals from midfield were rare, and often lower teams could walk through the barren acres of manicured lawns at their will.
The results have masked our obvious deficiencies.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

The other side of that arguement is that our imperious defence and lethal front line were able to be so thanks to the wold class levels work done in the middle.

Take away or reduce the quality of what feeds the front guys and what shields the back line and suddenly they all look bad and/or deficiencies up front or at the back are not disguised anymore.

We did not need a lot of goals from the middle in the past as our midfield had a different job to do.

Our midfield is about workrate and pressing/positioning.

We dont need world class players, but world class athletes who can play a bit. If they do their job properly, the rest slots into place. The fullbacks have more space to push up. We win the ball high up the pitch. There is rarely pressure on the backline.

We’ve been at our best with exactly this, the collective midfield was always better than the sums of its parts.

Big summer for us but I think with a couple of shrewd signings there it will galvanise the rest of the side
