Thanjk you.

A few of those players looked far too pleased with themselves after that result. Yeah a 9-0 isn't something that comes around often in this league. But after the pathetic turn up at the Mancs and the previous two ****house efforts they have a ways to go before they've undone their **** start to the season.

I think we did enough to win the first two games, the United match was an anomaly. **** teams always up their games over old rivalry.
So what has gone wrong? This isn't a reaction to one poor result we have been fairly ****e all season with one or two exceptions. Our play is slow, the forwards don't look like a unit, the midfield is a cluster**** and the defence seem to enjoy gifting sides goals, it feels like no aspect of the team is working coherently. To me it feels like the 20-21 season, where we lost defenders and stuck midfielders back there as a result ****ed up the midfield, the lack of a working midfield meant fewer chances created for the forwards and the whole thing fell apart. The difference then was we knew when we had the CBs back things would come together, this time for me at least the problem is more worrying there is o obvious solution which says get X back and we're off and running. I feel midfield balance is probably the key but I don't think putting Henderson or Thiago back in there solves the problem, I fear the answer lies in bringing in new players which is unlikely to happen before next summer...
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
For example, Real lost to Sherrif Tiraspol at home almost exactly 12 months ago and went on to win the CL. A few of the players seem to have bought into their own hype and O don’t see the required intensity and desire.
Some home truths need to be delivered.
And we need some pace and guile in midfield. Arthur looked slow as **** also.

But it's not just today, they're needed a rocket up them for most of the season, surely we must have had these conversations already after some of the results/performances of this season

To be fair Trent and Gomez were really poor yesterday, TAA's form has been stuttering this season and that's being polite, I thought Gomez had a decent game against Everton but still feels like he's on the long recovery road back. If Matip is fit I might be tempted to give Gomez a few games at RB to give him a run of games and give Trent a break to try and sort himself out. Also there is something not right with the balance down that side at the moment at least with Elliott and Salah, maybe having a more defensive RB for a few games might help those two sort themselves out too.
Midfield is a cluster **** only Elliott is showing anything like decent form. Balance in there really isn't right, also as much as I like Milner I think his days of starting games are behind him, his role should be experienced head coming on for last 15, but to be honest I think this is a season too far

I agree with everything except Milner, when he's on it's like we are a man down, he gets roasted at full back and leaves gaps in midfield. He just isn't an option unless we are winning by a margin.
This all come down to lack of recruitment over the last seasons really, we needed a ready made back up for Trent, a RCM who isn't constantly injured, and back up for Fab and Thiago, and preferably another CB. We also need to stop buying sicknotes, if you have robust players, you can have fewer.
* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.
This mess has been coming and was somewhat inevitable given the lack of investment over the past few seasons. I've posted several times about the need to rebuild the ageing squad. We haven't done enough in that regard and it is showing big time.
All of these should have been moved on by now.
Adrian
Gomez
Phillips
Milner
Henderson
Ox
Keita
Firmino
Some might seem harsh, but there is no room for sentiment if you want to win.
The "intensity" style of football we play (or used to play) is not suited to an ageing squad. Add in the ridiculous number of games we played last season. Add in a stupid amount of pre-season games (when City only played a couple) and it completes the recipe for disaster.
There are numerous other issues at play here too but if you stand still while others press on ahead of you then this is what happens I'm afraid.

There's every chance that we were actively looking to move some of these guys on, but there's also every chance that they decided to stay put or for the likes of Ox, got injured so that we couldn't move them on
