I think we need to sack off the cups. 5 or 6 wins on the bounce and we will find our groove again

Been saying it for ages. Its his only fault.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostHas Klopp been too loyal to lads who've been brilliant for him for 5 years or so?
The succession planning isn't as bad as it's looked lately, what with the absentees. Nunez, Jota, Konate and Diaz are all fresh and younger legs, but the midfield clearly needs an overhaul. The team feels stale to me - and out of ideas going forward / or possibly adapting and in a transitional period with the different make up and dynamic of the front three now. Everyone else is improving and - while it's early days - we look like we've stagnated.
Also wonder if there's a hangover from last season's monumental efforts. It's as if it's sped up the ageing process for a lot of the lads - tired bodies and tired minds."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah
"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Nicey

i'm not sure its loyalty but Klopp has always lost his star players to better clubs and had to replace, we havent been in that position since Coutinho and have maybe become a little stagnant/complacent. The type of player we could sell from the squad would be get very little so can understand not moving Ox, Bobby, Keita on. Bit different when someone slaps 140 mil infront of you.

So which midfielders (not Bellingham) would suit us right now and are potentially available?
How about Ruben Neves, Tomas Soucek or James Ward-Prowse? We don't need world class in midfield and these rank high in the distance run tables for last season, and they hardly get injured.Last edited by Fosterbloke; 23-08-22, 02:22 AM.Was muß, das muß.

All lack pace and unfortunately it's an area that is painfully slow for us already. We need quality but there has to be legs there too. As for who, **** knows but we need someone ASAPOriginally posted by Fosterbloke View PostSo which midfielders (not Bellingham) would suit us right now and are potentially available?

Serious question - do Man City have pace in midfield? Are De Bruyne, Rodri or Gundogan that pacy?Originally posted by danperkins View PostAll lack pace and unfortunately it's an area that is painfully slow for us already. We need to replace Milner. Then move Henderson into his squad position. Then thatll replace Henderson as a starter. I think hes probably done at his peak, which is not to say hes dropped off. But all players have a peak, its how they manage their 30s thats important.
2 new players in that midfield Area and we are fine for a bit. Will need to replace Bobby in a year or so. But after that? I think its just a frustrating time with injuries and trying to bed in some newer players.
Elliot has got it, just shouldnt be relied on this early in his career. Nunez, Jota and Diaz have it too. We are in good hands, just need to make that switch over.*Except Michael, who died.

I don't think they have extreme pace like Walker but all players mentioned are all very mobile across the grass & they also are brilliant in possession.Originally posted by Fosterbloke View PostSerious question - do Man City have pace in midfield? Are De Bruyne, Rodri or Gundogan that pacy?

I don't think it's all about pace, it's movement too. They all move into space and break the lines, whereas we are static.Originally posted by danperkins View PostI don't think they have extreme pace like Walker but all players mentioned are all very mobile across the grass & they also are brilliant in possession.

What have we bought Calvin Ramsey for then? He's coming back from injury but he's not gone out on loan.Originally posted by Fosterbloke View PostWe desperately need cover for TAA - another Tsimikas.
If we're aren't getting any midfielders in then 1. **** FSG the shower of cunts, and 2. Stick Trent in midfield and Ramsey at RB.
The season will be a shower of ****e anyway, may as well plan for the future.Last edited by Rafa Justice; 23-08-22, 09:34 AM.

I am definitely clutching at straws here but, Everton aside as they are ****, the bottom four are all football playing sides, perhaps not the most physical teams. Are the new reffing directives to let a bit of physicality go unpunished affecting these sides more? Us, Leicester, Wolves and WHU
