I have had no enthusiasm for this season. I'm still furious about losing that Madrid game. Last season needed a major trophy and by stumbling at the end feels like a whole lot of brilliance for almost nothing. I hope I'm wrong but I kind of feel with all of the consistency over the last several years this may be a transitional season. I know we had the injury season but I don't include that because we immediately improved when our defensive situation improved.

I hate to say it but I feel like a bit of a fair weather supporter at the moment. It's just that I think the team is capable of so much more. I don't mind losing if we play well, but it's the lack of ambition when running towards goal. I thought the idea of gegenpressing is that we could afford to lose the ball in forward positions?Originally posted by Zapater View PostI have had no enthusiasm for this season. To be really honest FB, you've always had an on-off relationship with football it seems. That's fair to say isn't it?
I'm a bit meh about this season so far too though. It's started too early, there's lots of other **** going on in my life and the World Cup is going to disjoint the season too

If we had Gomez in for Phillips from the start the result would have been different. Honestly I think we'd be better off letting him go and use Fabinho there in emergencies, he's woeful for our setup.Originally posted by rudedog View PostDon't think we played that badly against Palace, they didn't want to play football which always makes it difficult.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

6 is arguably Hendo’s best position. He doesn’t have to cover as much ground there either so it might be worth a shout.Originally posted by Charly View PostWho replaces Fab?
A half fit Hendo?
I had hoped Fab/Hendo would be our DM combo sharing match time 60:30, but all these bloody injuries have scuppered any kind of regular game management plan to max the benefit of 5 subs.We are here for a good time not a long time....

...they won't drop many points this season if today's anything to go by. They just have that knack of getting themselves out of (serious) trouble.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostA win tomorrow is needed
any slip City make we have to take advantage
We need to set down a marker with United tomorrow and go for the kill early. Knock all the stuffing out of them in the first 20 mins like we used to when we had Sturridge, Suarez and Sterling. the days of blowing teams away in the opening half was a nice habit... really struggling to finish early chances at the moment

Yep it’d be lovely to do a job on them in the first half & listen to their fans turn on the players, the Glazers & ETH.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

You don’t need to go all the way back to 2014!Originally posted by Tribute View Post...they won't drop many points this season if today's anything to go by. They just have that knack of getting themselves out of (serious) trouble.

This team did exactly that in this fixture just last season!.

Has Klopp been too loyal to lads who've been brilliant for him for 5 years or so?
The succession planning isn't as bad as it's looked lately, what with the absentees. Nunez, Jota, Konate and Diaz are all fresh and younger legs, but the midfield clearly needs an overhaul. The team feels stale to me - and out of ideas going forward / or possibly adapting and in a transitional period with the different make up and dynamic of the front three now. Everyone else is improving and - while it's early days - we look like we've stagnated.
Also wonder if there's a hangover from last season's monumental efforts. It's as if it's sped up the ageing process for a lot of the lads - tired bodies and tired minds. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
