We didn't address an ageing and injury prone midfield like absolutely every man and his dog was pointing out and we are paying the price. But it's fine, we'll get Jude next season to potentially play in the Europa league football.

We are so lacking there, they do nothing to help the forwards and they do nothing to help the defence. Unfortunately we stuck now and have to find a way to deal with it. Only ourselves to blame, took a huge gamble and are paying for it. Just Arsenal and City in the next few games.

Plus every team we play against overloads that side because they see it as a weakness, so there's even more pressure there.

They do not even have to attempt an overload on that side. We are attempting the overload down our right and in the process leaving ourselves at least one player down on a regular basis when play gets turned.

The other teams goes in with their LW and their LCM and they automatically have a man advantage without having to take any risks.

Most teams seem to play with three in the centre these days so as well as having their LCM and LW going towards our RCB, then can afford to let anpther CM break centrally as they know our DM will be having to protect two spaces so he goes with their advancing CM and our RCB gets to take on a LW and a LCM (like what happened to Gomnez during his horror show performance a few games back) or if our DM goes to plug the space the RCB leaves to take on the LW and LCM, the CM then comes changing through our empty centre.

Our LCM (usually Thiago) will be watching their RCM usually so he cannot over commit either.

It is actually a bit nuts that we are the ones doing the overload over and over, yet we never seem to be able to able to get a three on two (our RB, RCM and RW vs their left flank or left side of defence) in our favour on any sort of regular basis, yet it causes the other team to regularly get a two vs ones just by keeping their natural formation.

Imo of course.

This is the sort of stuff I used to love seeing Ole do in charge of the red mancs.

I think we will finish top two myself, but I need to check if I made a back up prediction that I can point to and say "See? I told you all that X would do that"

We won't be that far behind, IMO. All will be determined by how well we do against Arsenal and City in the next 2 weeks.
