Like I said yesterday I don't like the idea that officials can pick and choose when they enforce the rules, the idea that 'I am going to let the game flow' IMO causes problems with referees losing control of the game and could easily lead to players getting injured. I know there is a consensus of opinion in the sky studio that what the ref did was good for the game, but IMO he's not doing his job in refereeing in that way.

What if the Silva-Salah incident had happened earlier in the game, I think that would really have let thing boil over, if there had been another half an hour or so to play, how does the ref get back control of the game for that remaining 30 mins, what one of those challenges led to a player being out for the season IMO it's irresponsible.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Why did VAR not take a look at Silva's kick out at Salah after the shirt pull? Surely that's a potential red card?

The whining from Richards at the end of the game about the VAR stuff was absolutely bonkers.

This, it's fine letting the game flow while it's possible within the rules. If the ref is only there to whistle on and off we can just let anyone blow the ****ing whistle. This was the single most absurd performance I've seen really, like playing No Rules mode in FIFA.
        * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

          100%

It was my daughter’s 20th yesterday and we had a small party at the house that clashed with the game. Had to endure sitting next to my Man U supporting father -in-law being a full on City fan for the game, making arse comments. Also had to temper my language cos my mum was there - far from ideal!

The priceless moment was when Mo scores and wife is going mental - the look of disgust on the FIL’s face was hilarious! She converted from Aberdeen to Liverpool the moment she sang YNWA at her first game - “this is what football is all about!”

Ended up watching it together again quite drunk after everyone had left. Great game. So many good performances - Except the refs! Still buzzing!
We are here for a good time not a long time....

Also how the **** did Rodri not get booked in the entire game? That handball stopping a counter was the most blatant yellow card i've ever seen, and the less said about the Bernardo decision the better.

The above pisstakes aside - ****ing get in
Yeah, I don’t get why the non goal was given so much attention.

That whole ‘the ref said he was going to let the game flow’ conversation sounds dodgy as ****. Where is the line on that? Surely they went over it many times.

It was a clear foul. Carra was pathetic in his analysis of it.

Micah Richards is an embarrassment. He’s just a pure Man City cheerleader and offers nothing in terms of analysis, impartial or otherwise.

Claiming that Fabinho was ‘already falling over anyway!’ and ‘The ref saw it and let it go, surely his view should be the most important?’

No way he’d have argued that if it was the other way around.

Is pulling someone over by their shirt a foul? Yes. Discussion over

Klopp can have no complaints about his red and it's actually surprising he doesn't get more, but what did he do that was worse than Guardiola berating Taylor when he went to look at the monitor?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I'd say Klopp's was marginally worse, but you are right Pep got very lucky to get away with that.

The scuffed one on one after was worse though.
Why is nobody posting on social media the screen screenshots where Salah had much easier opportunities to play Jota in for what would have been tap-ins?

There is a definite ‘external’ narrative being played out with regards to Nunez and it’s disappointing that so may LFC fans seem to be getting sucked in by it.

Exactly, VAR is the reason the ref was allowing the game to flow - he knows if he makes any match changing mistakes, he has VAR to fall back on.

This is an example of how VAR can work for the better of the game yet so many seem incapable of understanding this.

Only because Pep is about as intimidating as a bunny rabbit. His outburst was a lot more sustained.

Ahh well, seeing as we are apparently playing with Lijnders tactics now, may as well have him as no. 1 in the dugout.
