That only works if they are capable of making basic decisions correctly, not just the game changing mistakes, like the one with Silva. I think VAR is making cowards of the referees now, they're becoming too risk averse. The problem with yesterday is that he didn't give very obvious fouls and then suddenly cancels a goal for one which is much less, so there's no consistency at all. Players don't know where to draw the line in their tackles or what to expect. I think he made himself look like an abject fool.Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad

Anyone else notice that we seemed to have a different approach when we are attacking but the opposition have got numbers back behind the ball? Instead of just punting in a hopeful cross we are passing the ball back (often all the way to the defence) to trigger a press and draw the opposition back out - we then look to move the ball forward quickly to exploit the gaps that have opened up.
This was working really well against Man City and we created some decent chances from it.

We generally try that against City though as City are one of the few teams that will actively look to go toe to toe with us for long periods of a game.
We rarely have to work on trying to draw City out because they will just come at us at some point and leave gaps at the back the way we sometimes too. They like a high line almost as much as we do.
Same tactic against Newcastle or Spurs would not be as effective as they will sit deep for longer and spoil a hell of a lot even when they are in a period of ascendency during a game.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Not having Diaz has probably forced us to play through the middle and limit the crosses more too. Obviously, a team like city who want to commit numbers forward makes it easier for us to unleash Mo on the counter that isn’t as easy when it’s against a wall of deep lying defenders.Originally posted by rudedog View PostAnyone else notice that we seemed to have a different approach when we are attacking but the opposition have got numbers back behind the ball? Richards much like Neville can't help but let the mask slip from time to time.
Richards is a massive bell towards Citeh’s bias… he gets an easy ride for being allegedly ‘funny’ and taking the piss out of Keane 99% of the time.
He’s a ****e pundit- far worse than Neville and dare I say it, Carra. Carra is getting to be almost as annoying these days though…Last edited by Tribute; 17-10-22, 12:15 PM.

Oh yeah a still image always shows it perfectly.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostI’m not looking to pile on Darwin, but you’re being overly generous to him
The scuffed one on one after was worse though.

Yeah the scuffed shot was ****....but you do realise he was miles offside?"When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

That was the easiest pass of the night. I was raging. He had no defender there, it was just slide a little pass into Jotas feet and it's a goal. That still image above doesn't show it properly, but the space Darwin could've passed into got closed quickly. He had a moment where he could have slid either of them through, but it was covered in a flash.Originally posted by wiw View PostAgree, but he's not alone - what about Salah not passing to Jota for the one that got saved? He would've had a tap in
The fact that nobody is saying a thing about it but rather just laying into Darwin for his 20minute cameo just proves my point."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

****ing thank youOriginally posted by rudedog View PostWhy is nobody posting on social media the screen screenshots where Salah had much easier opportunities to play Jota in for what would have been tap-ins?
There is a definite ‘external’ narrative being played out with regards to Nunez and it’s disappointing that so may LFC fans seem to be getting sucked in by it.

I loved the fact Pep is complaining the ref didn't play on despite a clear foul on Fabinho. But doesn't cry when KdB dives and gets a free kick when the ref clearly should have played on. Which then leads to our goal. The result doesn't change too much for either team as we're both easily top two teams. But seeing Pep continuously getting worked up is great. One tit for another.

I just love Poop getting so rattled. The self entitlement of that ****ing club is beyond your wildest imagination. They just go out their fully believing they should get every decision go their way, every foul given is wrong and that they never commit fouls. Basically expect teams to just lay down and let them walk the ball into the net.
I'd love someone to send a side out there to just ****ing smash into them Non stop for 90 minutes. Im surprised it hasn't happened yet to be honest. They league must absolutely hate them surely??"When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

See, it's bonkers letting that go in the name of letting the game flow. That isn't what VAR is designed for. Crazy stuff.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostNot a foul
