We are sharing the goals around now and he brings something different which I really like. Seems a good character to have and happy to play his part in the squad which (same as Jota) is crucial.

A one in 3 goal scorer who can be rotated is a decent player to have.

Needs to raise his game by many many levels. Filling a shirt, but not much else.

I wonder if constantly playing in different positions recently has had a negative impact. Not making excuses as I agree he’s been disappointing recently but he’ll come off the bench in midfield then play on the left the next game and then in the middle. He’s clearly lacking in confidence.

Would’ve made more sense to me - space behind Arsenal for Nunez to exploit and Gakpo to be an extra body in the build up vs bus Parker’s

He's looking a bit lost out there at times, he seemed to have some good link up play last year and looked like he could play a Firmino type role, this year he's been in a few roles and that seems to have unsettled him a bit.

I said this in another thread but I think the front 3 has become our new problem area, we are shifting folk around all the time and it had a negative effect. I think we need to decide on a front 3 and how they will line up and let them develop an understanding.

Yeah the switching positions isn’t good for continuity obviously & maybe without Mo we might settle on a lineup that gets the best out of everyone
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Nice to see him with a goal & assist off the bench today. We need him to step up with us losing Jota for possibly weeks/ months

Might get to play some more consistent minutes in the same position or at least only in the front three for a bit which would help him find some rhythm and form. When he played regularly last season centrally he looked very good. Don’t think the changes in position and hardly playing back to back games helps.

So what is the situation with him? It feels like he has regressed this season, and now seems very much bottom of the pecking order of our 5 senior forwards. His numbers don't look too bad 11 goals in 37 appearances (many of which are as sub), but performances seem to have been poor particularly of late. Is he just off form? Is he feeling the pressure of being one of only 2 fit senior forwards (him and Diaz) Is he suffering from not having a well defined position or not knowing what his role in the team is?

                                He's a very good 5th choice striker.

He's played a lot recently and we've scored a lot of goals in those games.
