I don't see what was wrong with Gakpo's love for Jesus. The only thing to worry about is getting needless yellow cards removing the shirt, but nothing wrong with him falling to his knees and making the cross gesture or whatever he prefers.

That's the first time in months I've seen him run quickly and look to take players on. I guess with injuries you never know how much they're holding back. We'll need his goals next season so hopefully he stays fit throughout pre season. Even though his workrate isn't as high as others or his skill level, he does score goals. His pre December form was good.

His one trick is fricking deadly though. Keeps the defender in two minds whether to let him cut inside or not. That gives him more space to take a player on down the line (which he does to be fair).

And yes I enjoyed that pace down the wing, opened my eyes wide at that. If he has that in his locker, along with his top strength and brilliant ball control he's first pick on that side.

Only games this summer he hasn't had a goal involvement were Milan and Palace.

Overall, 7 goal involvements in 7 games and he largely remains under the radar. Hoped this season that if he got enough game time that he'd be able to reach similar figures to Mane (bar 18/19). He's certainly go off to a good enough start.

He’s not the most spectacular player but does the job consistently and offers a threat. Another no fuss player and he’s improving every season he’s been here. Big fan of Gakpo.

I’d imagine with Ekitike, Wirtz and Salah and hopefully Isak being looked after more by the opposition he’s going to get some good numbers this season and be very important.
