Not surprising, but a joke of a decisionOriginally posted by Pepe79 View PostThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Just wondering why you think it is the correct decision? I was never calling for him to be sacked as some others were, and I don't necessarily believe that officials should be treated the same way as players e.g. the 8 game ban Mitrovic got. But if a player did that to another player it would unlikely be determined as accidental, and the player would almost certainly be looking at a red card and 3 match ban. Personally I think something like that would have been appropriate.
I also feel that this reinforces the idea that some people have that the officials can do no wrong and the system is there to back them up.Last edited by Exiled_red; 14-04-23, 07:07 AM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

1. I think it WAS accidental; I think he was looking to brush Robbo off as he was about to touch him.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostNot disputing it has got alot of publicity, his 'punishment' is that he has been stood down for 4 days and maybe missed one match.

2 If you can point at an example of a player being red carded for taking evasive action when an opponent is about to do a no no on him and, in taking that action, accidentally hitting him GENTLY in the face, and I am happy to reconsider my position.
We don't need to make every incident that happens 'against us' into some sort of anti-LFC conspiracy. **** happens. Now, let's get back to our main purpose...

I think if you’re taking evasive action then you bring your arm forward and away relative to Robbo. He brings his elbow laterally upwards to his own shoulder height and he’s looking at Robbo as he does it.Originally posted by Paul12 View Post1. I think he lashed out in a fit of temper.
It’s also not an ‘against us’ or anti LFC thing. Had the roles been reversed with a player of any other club doing that to an official, then I’m pretty certain it would have been a very different outcome.Last edited by Mark79; 14-04-23, 01:07 PM..

The lino looked a bit beefy, I'd bet he does some martial arts stuff (karate) and it's an instinctive (over) reaction.Originally posted by Pepe79 View PostI think if you’re taking evasive action then bring your arm forward and away relative to Robbo. Still not an excuse. Imagine if players used the same excuse
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

This is my thought on it, I am not claiming that there is an agenda against us as a club because of this or anything like that, I just don't think the same behaviour gets the same reaction if it is between 2 players or a player and an official whether it is intentional or not. As I have said previously I'm not saying he should never officiate again, or that he shouldn't for months. I think a player gets a 3 game ban for something like that regardless of whether it was deliberate or not. I think something similar here is warranted, it also shows that the FA are prepared to treat everyone in the game similarly rather than just back up the officials all the time.
