So that's the new stick to beat him with? Failure to speed-learn a really ****ing hard language to learn?Originally posted by Buzzo View PostI agree Gakpo took a few games to settle. I meant that Gakpo looks instantly at home when he is on the pitch now. Nunez doesn’t.
His not being able to communicate just cannot be helping him right now.
Of course it cant. Im sure he'd know key words. And there's plenty of our side that speak Spanish and Portuguese.
How many languages can you speak?
From personal experiences, learning English as an adult is very hard. Ask anyone that's tried to learn it.
For example my grandparents, moved here from Spain and just could not learn the language. 30+ years here and could only string together broken bit of Spanglish until they died.

Klopp has intimated as much with recent comments, making clear that “the ticket into this team must be counter-pressing” and “if you do it you play [and] have a good chance to start again”. Given Núñez has not been starting you don’t have to be Ted Hastings to figure out he is falling short of what his manager wants, with Klopp making his feelings on the matter particularly clear with his comments regarding Núñez’s adaptation to life in the UK. “His English is still not great, if not existing at all,” he said. “He has to learn English, that’s how it is. In training sessions we cannot have four languages translated.” Hence the role of Thiago as part teammate-part communicator, albeit occasionally at less-than-suitable moments.Modifying post.

Hey angry boy, take a breath and chill out, stop taking the Nunez stuff so bizarrely personal, it's getting a bit weird. You'd swear people are saying horrendous personal stuff about him the way you go on. It's just critiques and people's opinions about his attributes and his performances, you know like the way you do with Salah. It's fair game for every player, especially if it's blatantly obvious to 99.9999999% of football fans & not just LFC fans.Originally posted by Harv View Postwell there's a ****ing surprise.
Obviously people want him to do well as it would benefit LFC but he hasn't hit the expectations that such a price demands, that's just he truth... nowhere near it. If you are going to rush to his defence, you have to be able to concede that it's entirely possible that he has flaws in his game that genuinely might not be suitable for our system under Klopp. Whether he will get time to try improve his general play, output & language etc will be up to Klopp. I suspect with Klopp he will get time and we may very well see a much improved player ..... or we won't and he will be sold. It's been a weird year and he is just one of a number of problems we've had in a very dysfunctional season.Last edited by danperkins; 04-05-23, 08:23 AM.

He's not scoring as many goals as the alien at City. Fairweather fans think that's the norm now.Originally posted by SB View PostNot sure what you’re not seeing there Dan. Nunez I understand but Gakpo is hitting his stride as well as can be expected .

So giving an opinion cant be met with a rebuttal? Isn't that the entire ****ing point of this website? Yeah, I think Salah has been playing poorly, and several people respond each time I mention it. Thats the whole point of this all.Originally posted by danperkins View PostHey angry boy, take a breath and chill out, stop taking the Nunez stuff so bizarrely personal, it's getting a bit weird. Did I say he played well that game? Can you read? No, I didn't. I said he wasn't great, he looks lost, devoid of confidence etc etc. But his actions still won the game for us! Funny that.
Get off your high horse and quit being so ****ing sensitive.

eh? You're now paraphrasing posts that are aimed at other people?Originally posted by Buzzo View PostHmmm. Ok. I’m clearly picking you up wrong. I’ll assume that being referred to as a ‘fair weather’ fan above is a term of endearment.
I’ll leave you to it

It’s hard to tell to be honestOriginally posted by Harv View Posteh? You're now paraphrasing posts that are aimed at other people?
but I see now you are meaning Dan.
As I say, fair enough - I don’t see anyone critiquing Nunez and being disappointed as a fair weather fan at all. Dan even says we all want it to be going better. We all do. His confidence is low, I mentioned that pre match. I don’t think he moved his case forward at all last night.
But we are going nowhere fast here.Modifying post.

Apparently so. He’s been switched from central to wide left & fit in & done a good job for the most part.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.
