    Jota again, lovely

    Comment

Decent work out against a team a bit further along in terms of games and fitness. Some decent individual performances (Doak looks excellent) but we were a bit disjointed, as you might expect. Great result but two minor disappoinments for me - Nunez didn't take his shot on when he should have and we vacated our full back spaces for one of their goals. Both are hangovers from last season for me.

2nd half was much better. Doak done well and Jota looked sharp. If he can stay fit, he can be a big asset to us this season. Good to get the win even if it is what it is.

If we can keep everyone fit we'll have a great season. Can't wait for it to start.

I didn’t get a chance to watch the second half but I’ve seen you both mention Doak a bit. He looks our best youngster who’s going to break through next, hopefully. Do people think he’s ready to be a squad player this year? Obviously we have plenty of depth in the attack so his minutes can be managed but still get plenty of game time.

              Opinions on Bradley?

I thought he did well but it was so hard to work out our setup in the first half. It seemed to be a 343 most of the time with all of our midfielders, including Bradley, seemed to drift around a lot.

Yes, it was a bit confusing, players were all over the place. At one point I noted that Salah and Nunez were going for the same ball quite often, occupying the same space. Work clearly needed on the shape I think. Bradley didn't look out of place in the team to me though.

I was impressed with a few of the youngsters tbh.

Quansah did well in the 2nd half alongside Matip so it’ll be interesting to see what we do with him this season.

Clarke looks a real talent & certainly one for the future. Didn’t look out of his depth at all.

Bradley can expect game time if we don’t go into the transfer market for a new RB.

Doak possibly a loan to give him more experience but definitely a talent

McConnel never heard of him before but he did ok in midfield

Scanlan as above but on the left wing

Koumas not enough time to make an impression

I hope he is. He beats defenders for laughs - probably our best player for that based on form at the moment.

Yep the two youngsters ( Bradley & Clarke ) looked right at home in the midfield. We’ve still got Moreton & Bajetic getting treatment plus Jones & Elliot to return too so hopefully the future is bright with the talent coming through.

You have the bright positivity of a man who never has to work again. I love it

I watched the replay & then read through the match comments afterwards. But even after the initial THIS IS AWEFUL comment after about 15 mins by someone who shall remain nameless my spirits were high

                                Jota looked good.

Having him fit will be a big boost. I think he can get 25 goals a season if everything clicks for him and he keeps his spot in the team.

He’s a great finisher, runner and is great with both feet.
