You'd have to feel a bit sorry for Newcastle. Still though, the owners are executing a retired teacher who tweeted criticism of their economic policies to his 9 followers so that might cheer them up.

Yes, I was watching the same one and it really works. It makes you realise the platitudes they fob you off with at the end of matches most of the time.

Great result and a reminder of what the team is capable of.

I know there is some negativity and worry about more signings, I’m hoping for some as well, but this can set our season up.

It reminds the players what they are capable of, I mean this has to be right up there in Klopps time for sure. The lift they feel from this will do more than results like the 7 - 0 last year. This one really does lift the old squad and brings the new ones right up to what we can achieve under Klopp. You could see how much it meant to them and they’ve probably forgot to an extent what they can do in situations like this. We know we can score lots of goals but that real grit and drive, that focus and determination hasn’t been evident for a while. They’ve found it again and they need to keep it going next week and build on this. Feels great to see it again.

Plus it’s a reminder to all of us that this team under Klopp isn’t finished and has the ability and mentally to achieve more, to win some more to go again with a new group leading us to some more trophies. What does VVD have in store for his first trophy lift?

Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Having had some online conversation with two Geordie friends I can confirm that we are definitely living inside of the their heads

You know the world is on it arse when the american broadcast takes its time after the game without crowbarring in 50 adverts.

Wins like that are so good for morale. Way better than a 5-0.

Shows a level of desire that we’ve not seen for a while. I’m buzzing with it. The levels of doom on here after 25 mins were next level

We’ve got a new midfield (lacking one key component) bedding in. If we rectify that….
                        Modifying post.

Most I've enjoyed a win in 18 months.

Hm. Am stoked too, but not sure I share that level of enthusiasm. Still - I don't want to take it away from you, so..
                            Really?

Also shout out to Jarell Quansah. Difficult game to make your debut but held his own out there
