I agree I think there is a player in there, but for him to develop he needs to be playing, when everyone currently here is fit he 3rd or 4th choice, if Gomez (again rumoured) leaves we will almost certainly bring in another CB who would likely be ahead of him in the pecking order again meaning 4th choice. If we want him to develop a loan move could be a good way to rebuild his confidence

If we really are interested in Huijsen, I think we could do worse than to offer Quansah on loan to Bournemouth as part of a deal.

Personally I think he will be top class in a few years. I think maybe Gomez is preferred, but personally Id go the other way as Gomez has oriven time and again to be utterly unreliable.

Also, he is English, and we might be losing several at this rate with Morton and Elliott kellerher and Trent. I dont think many others are ready to step up.

I think Arne probably just doesn't fancy him as long term Virgil heir. If Hughes does manage to include a sell on clause, or a buy back clause, then happy ****in days.

Could go either way for the guy. He could be a worldie or he might go the way of other promising players who never lived up to it.

But we must surely have a replacement lined up. I know Guehi has been mentioned but not sure he is as good as ibou. And nobody we could sign will be as good as Virgil. Think the closest to VVD out there in terms of positioning, passing range, utter calmness in game, style of play etc would be Bastoni. Then drop down another tier in terms of quality and there might be Schlotterbeck.

I think Bastoni is an excellent shout - only 25/26 as well, I think, so coming into his prime in the next couple of years
