Gomez has been covering left back and right back this season and Matip’s season is over, if not his LFC career. That leaves us with 3 CBs including Quansah. Matip needs to be replaced, it’s just a case of whether we can get it done in January or need to wait til the summer.

With Milner/Fabinho leaving, we’ve also lost 2 who we could shoehorn into defense. When quansah went down near the end of the first half I was fearing the worst. We need another injury in defense, like we need a case of the crabs
    I don't tip

Aye, especially when you consider the number of games left to potentially play!...there will be a plethora of good defenders who will jump at the chance to play for us so get recruiting please!
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

Forgot that Nat Phillips is back from Celtic and probably stay on as cover so no potential defensive transfers until the summer when we will have a bigger pool to pick from.

Quansah has been terrific and the potential is there. We also have to balance the excitement with the fact that he has played 6 league games. The signs are good but I’ve seen shouts describing him as a £50m CB, which is premature to put it mildly.

As for reinforcements, we could very much do with signing a decent player who is comfortable playing both RB & LB. That would be an efficient transfer & gives us additional cover at both fullback positions (along with Gomez) but also frees up Joe to play CB if needed.

I don't think anybody is suggesting anyone would pay that for Quansah, but rather we would have had to pay north of that to secure Colwill and on this season's form, I don't think many people would swap.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I don't think we are signing a full back I think we will be looking at Bradley and Beck to cover those positions if needed. Robertson is due back soon and Gomez has done well at LB. If Robbo isn't fully fit I would expect Gomez to take some mins there, but Beck to fill in if Gomez is needed elsewhere, and Bradley to do similar at RB if Trent is unavailable and Gomez is needed at CB
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think the comparisons to Colwill are based on how they’ve performed this season but before the season Colwill was probably touted at being in the £40- 50m price bracket so it’s realistic to think it’d take a bid in excess of £30m for us to even consider selling Quansah based on his progress & future potential.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Nah, it could all go to **** obvs, but he has been class. And it is ok to say that.

Its not a Nat Phillips / Rhys Williams 'impressed' either, it is more looking at the style of defender he is and how good he could become. He has the lot in terms of attributes and attitudes to make it, and he has stylistically one of the best ever to learn from, and coach wise one of the best ever to manage game time and mentality.

He has played 15 games this season, I didnt imagine he would kick a ball for us pre season, I barely knew who he was so from that I have been very impressed. And he has looked great.
                              Modifying post.

The kid looks class, loads of potential still & you’ve got to add on the English tax so £40m looks about right at present don’t you think? What Pinky said was if we’d paid 40-50m we’d be saying he’s been good value, I don’t think anyone can disagree with that. Though someone would probably say he needs to score more goals
