"Weah" told Souness that Dia was his cousin and had played for Paris Saint-Germain as well as 13 times for his country and should give him a chance at Southampton. None of this was true and the phone call to Souness was a hoax.[7] Souness was convinced and Dia was signed on a one-month contract. However, it is disputed who made the initial call to Souness. Some sources state it was Dia's friend from university,[7] while some say it was Dia's agent,[8] and it has also been suggested that it was Dia himself who made the call. It was later reported that the same stunt had been pulled on Gillingham, who offered Dia a trial, but was let go by manager Tony Pulis who said that Dia was "rubbish". Harry Redknapp, then manager of West Ham United, also received the same call but dismissed it as "a wind-up".[9]

I didn't realise he had all ready done it twice over here. His wholce careeer was blagging a club playing less than 10 gmaes and moving on
Pretending to be George Weah was Shaggy's finest blag

It is what it is. Or, it was what it was.

Football supporting is supposed to be fun!

thanks SB for having my back, haha

To all saying it’s too early etc- just to clarify I’m not saying that he is worth 40-50m. Just saying that if we had (hypothetically) paid that for him, based on his 15 appearances so far, I would be happy that he’s delivering enough to justify the fee SO FAR. If he maintains his current standards he will certainly be worth that.
          I don't tip

He’s getting there isn’t he. Doesn’t look overwhelmed at all.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Think the biggest compliment that can be given to him is that he does not look like a player filling in, he looks one that is completely at home in a team like Liverpool FC and we have to change nothing in how we play at the back to accomadate him.

Playing beside VVD, Konate and Gomez and having Alisson (for the most part) in goals behind you is no doubt helping the kid settle into the first team.

Couple his emergence at CB with Bradley at right back and it's almost like Klopp and his staff know their squad better than those posters on Liverpool forums who were screaming out for us to invest heavily in the centre back and right back positions this summer.

Think if we dropped Phillips or Williams into the same team, we would see their limitations (lack of any pace in particular) exposed more often.

Quansah on the other hand looks far more polished than either despite his age and seems to be the sort of player that has confidence on the ball.

Do like how both VVD and Gomez talk to him a lot during games. Pretty good pair to be learning on the job from.

Very true, but also Phillips or Williams didn't have vvd to hold their hand...
