Considering our full midfield rebuild, we're doing amazingly well. I'm pretty sure we'll add to the team in January with a view to aiming for a title run next season.
Whilst FFP will hamper our rivals I can't see FSG dipping into their pockets in Jan, unless a sub £30m midfielder comes available.

I thought we had a squad to compete for the league and Europa. Not sure it's that strong now with these away results.

Probably be readjusting expectations after city away.

Getting back in CL next year we need to upgrade 4-5

Funny how Newcastle fans are shocked playing twice a week is difficult, their squad is falling apart in no time

To be fair we had four midfielders out injured for last nights game (Jones, Gravenberch, Thiago and Bajcetic).

So our depth of quality of being tested a bit at the moment and the regular starters are maybe getting more minutes without a proper break than they should as a result.

The one thing that softens the blow from last night's crap show is that it is not a season changer. Not quite a free hit game but not far off either. We are still in pole position in the group and maybe it will open Klopp's eyes a little more with regards the set up and how a few of the more snior players are or are not performing.

Mentioned it before but the away form is becoming a massive concern.

Did not think it was as bad as all that when you first mentioned it, then I went and looked at the results......

Six away games in the PL.

Two wins, three draws and a loss.

Two away games in the EL

            One win, one loss.

One away game in the LC

What makes even worse reading is that since the 30th of September our away record is played five away games in all comps - Won none, drawn three and lost two.

Before the 30th our away record was played four, won three and drew one.

Think I might have been overlooking how bad the run of away form has been the past two months due to the international breaks causing long gaps between games.

Home form has been imperious though. Eight games played in all comps and eight wins.

Curtis Jones. There’s a big drop off since he’s been out. He’s become a very important player in balancing things out and having the team work better.

Think without the red card, we might have seen MacAllister on the bench and Jones starting, maybe even in the deeper role with Gravenberch in the same team at LCM.

I know the last two results and performances before Brentford haven’t been great but for all the complaint’s we’re level second in the table, third top scorers and the second best defence.

Not too bad for a new looking team that’s still finding its balance and the right midfield set up. Plenty to work on and talk about but it’s a great position we’re putting ourselves in for the rest of the season and if the problem areas can be fixed up who knows what can be achieved. Top 4 and a cup or two?

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Point behind City despite the Luton, Brighton and Spurs nonsense.

Pretty good. Need to be 2019-20 ruthless though.
