Adjusting for Odegaard handball, Doku kick in stomach and Diaz's "good process, mate" incident, we'd be six points better off relative both to Man City and the Arse...so ahead of the Arse and a point behind City. Sounds so familiar I am almost grateful that it is different this time.

That refereeing error cost us another 2 points so we’d actually be a point ahead of Man City

Also seen that the if you do the same thing from 31st minute to end of the match we are top.
We've just been really ****e in the first half hour of games falling behind and leaving ourselves a mountain to climb. If we could have sorted out the start to the games we could have won the league. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

That pre-match "pep talk" about intensity must be very awkwardOriginally posted by Exiled_red View PostAlso seen that the if you do the same thing from 31st minute to end of the match we are top.

41 goals conceded this season in the league - 3rd best
Only 9 clean sheets - equal 6th with Bournemouth and Crystal Palace
Arsenal are top with 18, Everton second with 13
16 times Liverpool have conceded the first goal this season in the league
Average of 1.1 goals conceded a game throughout the season
Arsenal are 0.7
Liverpool have kept 1 clean sheet in 15 games - that being against Atalanta
They average 2.27 goals a game in the league. It should be higher considering the chances created. Work at both ends but hopefully not that far off picking up those few extra points.
It’s not like the team concede a lot of goals but if it’s the first goal almost 50% of the time they give themselves so much more work to do and put the defence under so much more pressure.
I’m not saying they are great defensively at the moment but seems more the timing of the goals they concede rather than the numbers. Why do they start games so slowly and with a lack of real intensity. We don’t have to come out and blow teams away in the first 30 minutes like we used to under Klopp, although that would be nice. Let’s see how Slot gets things going.
It wouldn’t take a huge overhaul to get those improvements. A few underperforming players out and some top key players into the starting team isn’t too much to ask. With the new team in place let’s hope the recruitment kicks back into the old days and we sign a few surprises that take this team to that next level.

With the manager leaving I think we need to just think of the squad as individuals, players that may or may not excel in an as yet to be understood formation and style of play, rather than whether the front or back line are working. I think there will be some significant movement in the market this summer but the squad quality is high. An attacker (or two if Mo leaves) and a defender or two (whether Trent leaves or not) and we should be a good position player wise.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

I do think that we'll be busy in the market and we probably need to be. Interesting to see if any of our household names want out now that Klopp is leaving. Edwards coming back and being ruthless is a really good thing. It's a wee bit exciting after such a dissapointing ending to the season and to Klopps time at the club.
Along with those signings, I do think we need a quick and physical DM. Endo has done great but he does have limitations and there is nobody else in the squad to excel in that position. The team desperately lacks real blistering pace.

Get some seriously quick/pacey cunts in to stretch the play, there's plenty of them out there.Originally posted by danperkins View Post

Adeyemi (Dortmund), Mbeumo (Brentford), Leão (AC Milan), Neto (Wolves). That said, Nunez is as fast as some of these players, not sure about quick though, perhaps Kudus and Summerville can be added the list."We oil the jaws of the war machine and feed it with our babies."
