that would be my worry - if Xabi came to us then all the talk would be about him going to Madrid

Klopp has left the team in a great position for whoever takes over next. We all thought this new squad would reinvigorate him and keep him going but obviously not.

So many young players for the next guy to develop all with such a strong education from Klopp. Whoever takes over shouldn’t have a lot to do and with how well the club is run it does make things look a lot better starting point.

It’s not usually the case a new guy comes in to a job like this so that’s a massive bonus.

Interesting that so many are leaving though and what that means. Have we got someone or a lot of someone’s lined up? A new version of the Edwards Klopp combo incoming.

Pretty sure the current players motivation will drop slightly without the constant klopp hugs.

Apart from the likes of Alonso and De Zerbi who are the first two who are being talked about who are the top managers out there. I imagine we’d being looking for a youngish manager and a long term appointment.

Not that he would be a realistic choice but I know someone like the Feyenoord manager is supposed to be a very good manager but maybe there are some potential targets that we wouldn’t necessarily think of.

Whoever they are they need the right personality to be able to command the respect of everyone at the club from day one.

I'm a bit unsure on Alonso due to a perceived inexperience. If this this view is shared, does Leverkusen winning the league this season change anything?

Could he be the new Pep? By that, I mean a great player becoming a top manager...the majority fail at that...

I expect the decision has been made already or is close to being done for whoever is being appointed, Alonso winning the league would happen too late to have any influence on the decision IMO.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He wouldn’t be my first choice but he’s done a lot of things that many managers couldn’t have. He kept Bournemouth in the prem and had them punching for a few seasons and last year managed to get a Newcastle side into the top 4 that contained the likes of Dan Burn and Almiron as players.

The latter in particular is proof that he can work with average players and get them performing beyond themselves.

He’s also young but very experienced and plays a decent style of football.

What is it that you think is laughable about him? The fact he’s English? Or that he is paid by Saudis?

I find Howe completely objectionable. Can't stand him.
                        Oh I don't know.

Bournemouth twice, Burnley and Newcastle? We don't have average players we have top top players and shirley any manager coming in has to have some pedigree.

Going to have some big balls to follow Klopp.
