Lego head or Captain Black are the two I hear the most.

Or just the two I say the most and force others to hear

But come on, he IS Captain Black.

Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

            343 is interesting imo

Would surely mean Trent as a right midfielder??? Bradley too as a back up??

343 is assuming a new manager would come in and basically completely change the set up that the squad has been recruited towards faciliitating.

Also if we win the league this season, would a new manager just come in and then start next season as a complete rebuild tactically and in terms of formations or would he come in and have the players use set ups similar to our current one whilst he evaluates the players and then gradually over time tweak things so they move towards his long term plan.

My gut says the latter would be the more likely option.

I’d doubt he is going to change his football philosophy that has gotten him where he is. IMO we will see tweaks to the squad in the summer to suit his playing style. Preseason is plenty time enough for the players to get used to it.

Just don't see him switching to the formations he currently uses tbh.

Our squad is far too stacked with midfielders and light in defenders for it.

He only plays with two in the CM/DM role as two from the four in his midfield set ups are the wing backs. The wing backs being expected to do a serious amount of work and also to track back constantly.

We have Jones, MacAllister, Endo, Gravenberch, Szobo, Elliot, and Bajcetic. So five get left out each week.

Up front he uses one set striker with two roaming attacking midfielders behind him rather than the striker being flanked by wingers.

We have Jota and Darwin for the striker role, though Jota's injuries every season make us potantially light there.

For the AM roles we then have Salah, Diaz, and Gakpo with Elliot and Szobo being potentials for it too. But no natural role for the guys who are natural wide men so the likes of Diaz, Doak etc would very much be square pegs in round holes.

At the back is where I think we would have issues. Three starting CBs every game and we currently have four starter level CBs in our squad with two of them (Gomez and Konate) being injury prone.

And for the wing backs we look ok in terms of numbers but could not see TAA thriving in a wing back role where the work rate is expected to be high and the ability to roam is curtailed.

Over on the other side I think the role would have been great for a younger Robertson but not so sure it would be as good a fit for him now.

Just cannot see a single pre season being enough to get all the players up to speed for a system that plays at a very different tempo, that builds from a defensive base and that whilst it presses a lot has it's triggers for pressing working very very differently to our own press, a press it took Klopp a season or two to get right.

Amorin's teams press by pushing the other team into wide positions and try to force the ball away from the centre of the pitch, and then have the wing backs be work horses in aiding in the hunting down of the ball once it goes wide. Notr sure we have the guys for that.

Think he would instead play to the current squads strengths until he has had enough time to bring in more players that suit his set up and also more time to slowly start shifting towards the set up he wants.

Of course that is again assuming he will want to set up as he does in Portugal, he may be looking at our squad and have something different in mind.

Three signings - an LCB, a LWB and a mobile DM are all we'd need to begin transitioning to Amorim's Sporting CP system.

                      Who do we sell?

Otherwise we end up with current high earners not getting games or having eight midfielders, most of them senior player level, for two positions.

Just do not think it is as simple as oh the new guy used this set up at his last club so he will do the same with us.

Klopp when he came in did not set us up in a like for like manner with his Dortmund teams and once he started getting in a higher level of player he did not turn us into Dortmund mk II.

He evolved his way of setting up a team once he was able to buy better players than he would have been able to get at Dortmund.

Now maybe if some of the players rumoured to be looking to leave (TAA to Real and Diaz to PSG) actually leave then I could see a change in the type of player coming in as there would be a serious amount of cash suddenly available and that in turn leading to a gradual shape change.

Just think it would be nuts if we won the league this year and then spend the summer making wholesale changes to what worked so well.

                        Hoped we would get Southgate.

Big Sam was at the match on Sunday, so I thought.....

I'm not saying it would necessarily be an overnight change. It may well be a transition, if it happens. Just saying I don't think the squad needs an overhaul to manage it.

Even if Klopp were staying, we'd likely be seeing an LCB coming in anyway, plus a couple of other additions.

For outgoings, Matip and Thiago are likely off, there's 2 big wages freed up already.

Also for the midfield, you've touched on it yourself already, the likes of Szoboszlai and Elliott would become options in the 2 behind the striker.

Guest of united’s. I’m gonna go all Kevin Keegan…. I would love it if he turned out to be their next manager, love it… finally get the big job he deserves…

They would then it becomes two from Salah, Diaz, Szobo, Gakpo, Elliot, and Doak for two places.

Salah is going to remain undroppable if he is with us so then it becomes one from five.

Is a nice problem to have in a way but think we have far too many senior player and big earners for two few positions if we went with a set up like what Sporting have been using.

Mind you it is a chat about hypothetical set ups that highlights the sort of quality we do have rather than one that has us saying we are short in quality all over the squad. So a nice problem in some respects.

Not implausible. But I think we will see a few outgoings in the summer. Trent is a conundrum, will be interesting to see what happens there. Robo, I wouldn’t be against replacing him at all and I think Salah is likely playing his last season for us. We will see a couple of new CBs imo, especially a left footed one.

Asking a new manager to use the current squad to replicate what Klopp is doing would be a disaster from the beginning. So lots of changes, hopefully more defensively sound without losing too much offensively.

I’m quite excited by it all tbh. Looking forward it see how it all pans out.
