According to the Portuguese agent I know, it has been verbally agreed 2 weeks ago.

A curse on anyone who tries to serenade him with a version of 'Thats Amore'.

The manager will probably need to have a big personality to get the fans onside quickly as we have been spoilt with Klopp so it will be imperative that his team shows some signs of regular improvement/steadiness other than regression while getting to grips with the formation/tactics the new gaffer wants to play.
Of course, there will be times when there be games where the team will have a bad one but show progress willingly under the new regime.
It might be harder for a new manager but I have to say it would have been easier for me if we'd won a treble this season.

Yep I totally agree. If we lose the league after being in the running all season I’ll be hungry for us to win it again soon whereas another title under the belt lets us sit back & feel somewhat content for at least 1 season.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Listening to that Klopp interview after the Fulham game, he doesn't sound like a man ready to go to the beach for the rest of his life... Must have the German team in mind. I can't think of any other way of rationalising his departure. Still wondering why we haven't offered him a sabbatical.
            Really?

Nagelsmann just signed a 2 year extension.

I think Klopp is taking a year out at least, he is a grandfather now and wants to spend more time with his family. Who knows after that.

I wonder if he would come back season after next if the new man fails miserably?

He’s shattered. He clearly wants a year out, at the very least. A sabbatical wasn’t an option from his or the club’s perspective.

"If you ask me, ‘Will you ever work as a manager again?’ I would say for now no,” he admitted. “But I don’t know obviously how that will feel because I have never had the situation.”

My bet is he gets bored and realises he's made a terrible mistake, just like Kenny did.
                    Really?

The club is dumb for not considering it. Different management, of course, but even Shankly just needed a break. We got lucky the first time, give Paisley came in, but not the second and likely not the third, albeit Klopp leaves the squad in a bit of better position than Kenny did.

The problem is we donlt know what will happen? He might get bored after 3 months, 6 months or 2 years.

I am not sure he would commit to a timeframe, by his own admission he doesn't know how he will feel,

I guess you're right. Shame Pep is again his no.2 as I wouldn't trust him for 6 months or 18, or 24.

You want Liverpool FC to put everything on hold for a year to wait for a manger who doesn’t even know yet if he even wants to return to management in a years time?

Even if they had considered it, I expect even Klopp himself would have told them to not be so ridiculous.
