Let's be honest ref/VAR (by not sending ref over to screen) bottled it. A pen awarded in added time with the game level hands us a win and an advantage in the title race, and they were never going do that, the fact he had already awarded a pen to us albeit a stone wall pen, would create a narrative that they wouldn't wantThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Ref decisions to one side.
That was one hell of a performance from us today. Not even our strongest line up and we looked easily a match for what many think is the best team in the league and also in Europe.
We just need to continue to look at ourselves and believe we are at the same level and that it is a genuine title race from here to the end of the season.
Anything they can do in the remaining games, we can match and maybe even better.
A lot of teams will dread playing us as we are not and **** themselves at the idea that we are going to get even stronger as players return from injury and regain fitness.
Roll on the next game and hopefully knocking the red Mancs out of the cup.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Yeah would have taken Diaz off instead of him.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Neville said that on commentary too, but all 3 chances came in the same 5 minute spell of Liverpool pressure. If he scores the 1st, the others don’t happen.Originally posted by kingfunk View PostPeno aside, how many chances did we have to put the game to bed, Diaz could have had a hatrick if he was more clinical, I probably would have taken Joe off for Robertson and left Bradley on the right, thought Nunez was a bit unlucky to come off also..

I think the Nunez one was fitness related, I don't think he's ready to play 90mins.Originally posted by kingfunk View PostPeno aside, how many chances did we have to put the game to bed, Diaz could have had a hatrick if he was more clinical, I probably would have taken Joe off for Robertson and left Bradley on the right, thought Nunez was a bit unlucky to come off also.
The missed chances are a big problem though, Diaz would be a he'll of a player if he could just get some composure in front of goal, he needs to score more for the positions he gets into.
I feel if we don’t win the league it will probably be due to injury/fitness/exhaustion issues, I just sorry that we won't have the legs playing 2 games a week for the next couple of months with so many players out.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

We were robbed by ****e officials again, we missed plenty of chances to win but I’m not despondent…… I’m actually really positive. That second half display has me convinced we’ll win at least one more trophy this season. Nobody in the EL lives with us if we play like that, nobody in our remaining league games lives with us if we play like that….. we are right in this
And
Elliott, Bradley, Quansah…. are you kidding me, they were totally at home at this level. We’ve such talent coming through and more players to come back, we can go for all 4. Up the Reds……
Hear us coming down the road, when you hear that noise, it’s the Bill Shankley Boys
We sang that on the walk out of the stadium midweek and all the way back into Prague with our police escort

The biggest compliment to these young players is we haven’t drop our standards with them in the team. Bright future and ready for a big finish to the season. Feel Elliot has taken more responsibility with so many out and is showing his experience at such a young age.
