It really isnt. Most footballers are on their last professional contracts. Very few are competeing at the top, especially ones whio rely on pace. Salah can adapt and has shown that, but sometimes there can be a sharp decline.

That freekick stat really doesn’t look like it could or should be right based on the other stats

Two were high quality chances, for the players he should have passed to. One in the first half sticks out when he volleyed way over with Darwin unmarked on the edge of the six yard box. But **** happens, I’m not slating him, he wasn’t particularly poor, he was just quite wasteful with the ball, but he’s been like that for quite a while. Usually his composure in the box more than makes up for it, and he kept it for the winner.

In 'reality' he's created more big chances than any other player in the league this season, despite missing a large chunk of it. If we are expecting double the amount of assists from a player, what planet are we getting this player from?

It goes back to what Buzzo says, despite leading the way and breaking all sorts of goal scoring records, some people will still obsess over what he didn't do.

I know you aren't one of those people SB, but to criticise his assist stats this year in particular is a little obsurd.
