Klopp's team set the tone, took Atalanta as an easy opponent and that seemed to be reflected in our play, so lackadaisical and complacent, like a win would be a formality. Problem with that mindset is it's hard to shake it off mid-game.Originally posted by danperkins View PostHow is it possible for literally every single players to be utterly dreadful? It doesn't make sense, not one single player comes out of that with any sort of credit. The worst thing of all apart from the result of course was that it was a lazy performance with no fight.

Atalanta made it difficult all over the pitch. Deserved the win.
If Nunez takes his chance at 0-0 it can be all different. That was a ****ing terrible miss, very angry about that one not even hitting the ****ing target.
Defence was a total shambles all through the match.
Don't get your hopes up on the title, that will be done based on this showing.Modifying post.

I think it's a combination of all 3 things. I still don't think klopp announcing he was off was a good thing. It's heaped a lot of additional pressure on, especially from the footballing world rather than just our own fans. Losing jota and salah coming in killed the momentum. We were in a proper groove and playing some of our better football. Jota was the one that we really couldn't be without. The utd cup game is ultimately where it started to unravel for me and they haven't got over it.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostYeah the last few results/performances have largely been poor, and has effectively ended our FA Cup and Europa League chances. The Man Utd result last week on it's own wasn't terrible but the position it put us in and the context of the FA Cup tie and imminent exit from Europe it does make you worry that way.
Do we think the enormity of it has caught up with them, the pressure has got to us or we have just run out of legs or what?
I don't see us winning half our remaining games. But then I'm a half glass full guy so that's normal.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

Good work with the flag ban. Most likely Klopps last Euro night.
I’m not saying flags make a difference. It seems preposterous to say so. But maybe changing routine and in stadium dynamics does subtlety affect mentality for 50k home supporters and 11 players. The only available evidence is; we got humped 3-0 at a home game where there was a protest and no flags and we really needed a strong performance on and off the pitch. We were unbeaten in 33 at home until tonight.
Weakened team sent onto the pitch and weakened crowd.Modifying post.

One of those nights, not nice but a wake up we've needed TBH - It will be tough to go there and get four but I'd back our lot to do it - that said there is an alarming ease at which we are leaking goals.
Too many individual errors kicking in, tiredness, complacency etc, Even Virg was guilty tonight but you could see his anger kick in after the 2nd and the 3rd.
Kelleher's performance reminded me of Southampton last year, and thankfully Allison should be back for Sunday.I make no apologies, this is me

Crowd were poor. That's the price for so many tourists though. In the 00s, Anfield was a cauldron in big European ties. Tonight was shocking.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostGood work with the flag ban. Most likely Klopps last Euro night.
