Keeping players available is great but not at the cost of stamina and durability. Slot then compounds it by playing slooooow football to keep it low event. These players are still mostly Klopp era and you saw on Wednesday how to get the best from them. The problem is that they were so knackered that they couldn’t run today.

In the PL every game is a fight and you must match the work of the opponent to be in with a chance. We are simply not doing that.

This waiting until the summer is ****ing pathetic as well, he’s a dead man walking and that surely filters down into the squad. This season has been a monumental **** up, 10 games list with 7 to go. Even with Nat, Hendo, Fab and Rhys alternating at Cb we didn’t lose that many.
Just look at last weekend against spurs who had how many players missing and were mentally so low yet they finished the game stronger. It’s the same thing every game at the 70 minute mark the team look done. It’s a case of both last weekend. Not going at them early when they were vulnerable and letting them get comfortable in the game and then not being able to finish the game strongly when needing a goal.

And the use of the squad. Over playing the same players and under using others so one lot are tired the others aren’t match sharp when they finally do get a rare game. They don’t look like they wanted to be out there today. The way they finished it hardly looked like a team trying to fight and get a result. Like you said it’s filtered down through the squad and it really showed today.

He’s brought over his ideas and what worked for him previously but one of the problems is what works in one country doesn’t work in another. You need to be able to adjust and change your ideas.

The lower intensity might have worked for him previously but you need to figure out what works and how to change your methods to fit the football for the league you are in.

And talking about filtering down it might also be that less intense training just gradually leads to lower levels in everything. You set the tone and it becomes the norm. Everything is done to a lower level.

I guess I'm being a bit dumb, but what does it mean 'breaking career highs' and one on Weds?
          Really?

Slot and Hughes have to take the can on this - Maybe move ME back, although I doubt he's want to ?
I make no apologies, this is me

I’ve not bothered watching the last 2 games. I’m not sure I’ll watch another while this bloke is in charge.

Got better things to do than see one of his team play.

This is 100% on the money and won't change until we get rid of this blagger. He talks a good game but he's always been on about this training load since he came here and he's got it horribly wrong. We're so unfit and have so many injuries, some not through training but it's fair to say it's unravelled spectacularly.

The idea must have been to try to keep as much of the squad cost as possible on the pitch. So higher quality players but manage their intensity so that you need a smaller squad. It would explain the reluctance to bench Mo given how much he is paid and the lack of alternatives. They probably thought they were being clever but it hasn’t worked and you can’t really switch mid-season as we can’t cover the injuries that come with high intensity hard running tactics. For that reason I don’t think they will make a change until the summer. They were ruthless with Kenny, but gave Brendan the start if the following season and let him sign Benteke. We might still see Arne next season.
                      Never knowingly optimistic

Which players could actually keep up this high-intensity play? Virg? Salah? Mac? Grav? Wirtz? That's 50% of our regular starting outfield, and I think they'd all struggle in one way or another. Did you see Frimpong today? He's got exceptional speed but came up against a player just as fast, but bigger and stronger too; he (Frimpong) had to stretch and strain every fibre of his being to stay in the fight - you could see the extra effort a more diminutive player has to make in order to at least make a fist of it vs a bigger opponent - there is no doubting the effort but how big a toll is this constant effort going to take, notwithstanding the numerous injury setbacks he's already had? And that's ignoring how much of a liability he is with high-balls to the back post.

The balance of the squad looks totally off, with too many passengers when we haven't got the ball.

There should be more than one head on the chopping block, that's for sure.

I've had the ipad on while I was doing other stuff for the pats 6-7 games. I'll look down at it from time to time or when the commentator or crowd go mental.

The Gala home match was the first I watched since the City match. I can't remember the last time I've not watched this many matches. I just see it as a waste of ****ing time and difficult to justify when balancing family live vs watching absolute wank.

I've made a decision that I won't watch another Premier League match this season and will just watch the cup games.

                              I'm that fan now

Most minutes played ever in a season

Szozbo passed his most minutes for a season last Wednesday. Most of them are available every week but they are not able to run hard for 90 mins. This is compounded by him not rotating enough and doing light training so as not to over exert the players

Slot + Pieters is the polar opposite to Klopp and Kornmayer from a training ideology perspective
