But there isn't an emotional bond with the fans, younger fans have known nothing but klopp and are used to a sort of father figure. He has credit with the fans for the success last year, but nobody is really invested in his tenure, or his personal success or failure. The fan sentiment could turn from ambivalence to hostility pretty quickly now if things don't change asap.
I get it that he won us the league. And that can never be taken away from him.

Brendan Rodgers was a Gerrard slip away from us winning the league though!! Or if the Sterling offside v City was correctly called.

The interesting thing about Slot last year as well is that he signed no players in the starting 11. So although he did great last season - particularly with the re-deployment of Gravenberch as a holding midfielder, this year is different gravy altogether.

People have said that this feels like under Hodgson where the manager doesn't have a clue. I don't agree with that. To me, this feels like the last months of Rodgers, where we spent a fair bit of money but didn't play to the strengths of the new signings. And to be fair, the new signings started ****e as well (thinking of Christian Benteke in particular)

I think Slot has to do something. I'd like to see him go with 2 sitting midfielders for a few games. It might make us boring for a while but we are way too easy to run through at the moment.

I'd trade boring for stability at the moment. I also suspect that with a deeper Gravenberch, Konate looks more solid too. A double 6 might give us the defensive confidence and space to let the fullbacks get forward too.

I don't know if Slot is willing to change his style though.
We are here for a good time not a long time....

        Less advanced DM's would help.
Stop passing around the back cos it doesn't help at all.
Possibly play Endo next to grav, Endo has the discipline to hold if grav goes for a wander.
Inverted winger who are 100% going to cut inside as they can't play with their other foot are far too predictable to defend against.
The inverted wingers who cut in to shoot are not playing balls into the 10 or 9 positions so our mega spend is a waste of time.
Our tactics do not get the best out of the available players or the players we have bought.
It's beyond time to end the mo salah show.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Looking at the pass map for the last game, Macca was the furthest forward of our 3 mids, with Grav closest to the defense and CJ kinda midway between them.

Get Macca back next to Grav, with either Dom or Jones in front of them. Get control of that midfield again.

Don can actually lead a press as well.

              Agree.

I think the inverted wingers is ok if we had full backs that were like wingers......I think that might be the plan all along???

Really need 2 solid midfielders that work in tandem though. Maybe that is the biggest miss

100% with you on this one. The walking football at the back is close to giving me a stroke - nobody is being goaded into the press because everyone is onto it, tactics have moved on.

I am so so so sick of seeing Konate ponder on the ball, then either play it back to the keeper or chip a paceless, lofted ball to nobody, gifting possession and putting everyone on the back foot.

Maybe Arne needs to sit up all night with his pepper pots to figure it all out like another former manager did, for all the good it did him.

Honestly think this fella is done. Last year was transition, this season is Arne's vision, and so far, it is ****ing ****e.

Who cares if the Manager doesn't fist-pump and bear-hug the players every two minutes? Having somebody that knows what he's doing is far more important than having some overactive performing seal on the touchline.

                      Kenny was hardly Mr Passion

                      Alonso is quite similar

As long as they can motivate the players, not sure it matters.

Slot should be shown the door now, but what idiot manager is going to want to take over while Salah has that contract stipulation in place?

I feel for him in that he can’t help us making the same mistakes over and over but his stubbornness in playing the same out of form players every week and showing no trust in the squad players is infuriating.

God knows who we go for next but he has to go. He can’t turn this around. It’s been three months of **** and those early wins weren’t convincing at all. We’ve been average at best since the League Cup final.
