The interesting thing about Slot last year as well is that he signed no players in the starting 11. So although he did great last season - particularly with the re-deployment of Gravenberch as a holding midfielder, this year is different gravy altogether.
People have said that this feels like under Hodgson where the manager doesn't have a clue. I don't agree with that. To me, this feels like the last months of Rodgers, where we spent a fair bit of money but didn't play to the strengths of the new signings. And to be fair, the new signings started ****e as well (thinking of Christian Benteke in particular)
I think Slot has to do something. I'd like to see him go with 2 sitting midfielders for a few games. It might make us boring for a while but we are way too easy to run through at the moment.
I'd trade boring for stability at the moment. I also suspect that with a deeper Gravenberch, Konate looks more solid too. A double 6 might give us the defensive confidence and space to let the fullbacks get forward too.
