We've played 3 mid table / relegation threatened teams and haven't conceded.

Last two seasons under Klopp we'd have conceded in 2/3 of those games.

Slot and his staff have made some small but significant changes that have resulted in us being more defensively sound.

I do wonder if a good portion of the squad were burnt out under Klopp hence the frequent lapses on concentration that lead to opposition goals.

We conceded some decent opportunities today. Poor finishing and some good keeping kept it at nil.

Yeah but was definitely a period under Klopp where opposition teams seemed to be scoring with their only shots on our goal

He knows who his match winners are, and with the exception of Mo, who’s probably got playing 90mins in guys contract, he’s managing their minutes well and using the quality we have as cover. It’s a marathon not a sprint and Trent, Diaz and Jota aren’t playing 90mins and that might be significant come the end of the season.

Sobozslai is too important to how the front four press, I don’t think he’s been subbed yet. He has looked like the hardest worker so far this season doing a lot of the under appreciated work.

I don’t think Elliott has the pace or the engine to do the same thing.

The number 10 role in this slot side is not the luxurious creative role of a number 10 in the mid noughties, who didn’t tend to do much work off the ball

It will and is something Klopp couldn't do much last year due to chasing deficits, and poor finishing.

Szoboszlai was knackered by about November last season (different system etc) but I would have thought he was one that would have needed some rest/rotation

That's something Elliot very much has. He has seemingly crazy levels of stamina and energy. The pace, size and physicality compared to Szobo not so much

I think Slot will rotate more when everyone is up to speed and the workload increases, no real reason to rotate when there is a week between matches. What a start though! Nunez and Chiesa will have a break during the internationals, Elliot as well so we could see some changes against Forest IMO.
