Apparently he now has a better start in terms of results than Mourinho from his first stint at Chelsea. I suppose that’s the ‘bar’ in terms of what a new manager can do scorer season. It doesn’t always need to be a 5 year plan.

      What a coach

Nobody saw this coming when we appointed Slot. Real and City within the same week?? Both swatted aside without conceding a goal.

9 points clear in the League by Dec 1st.

      He can do no wrong.

Incredible so far. A few tough away games coming up, get through them with a good haul, a contract or two agreed and things could get serious.

          ****in brilliant.

This really has been Shanks to Paisley 2.0 - such an understated guy who just does a ****in brilliant job.

The defensive improvement in us is epic.

This is nothing like Shankly to Paisley and I wish people would stop using the analogy.

Bob Paisley was a player, coach and assistant manager at the club from the 1940s to the 70s before being appointed manager.

It is like Shankly to Paisley in that everyone thought we'd be ****ed after Bill Shankly left......and straight away it wasn't the case at all.

It is also comparable by the fact that Shankly was a huge character who was effectively the star of the show and who very cleverly took all the focus off his players with his big character......and Slot is a quiet character who is obviously clever as **** (a la Bob)

Yeah of course there are parallels. Manager leaves on a high, of his own accord leaving huge shoes to fill.

I hope it’s that way and he wins trophies - amazing start, now we need trophies to follow it up

So what you're all saying is we're 2 managers away from a Souness run.

Great interview with Arne & Sander Westerveld here. A great insight into the man & I didn’t know they played together years ago.

Slot on Salah saying Sunday could have been his last home game v Man City: "Maybe Mo knows more about the 115 (charges) and doesn't expect them to be in the Premier League next season! I do expect them in the Premier League. It was a joke! I repeat it was a joke!"
