And more to the point, more available. We've always had great players, it's just that they are normally ****ed by this time of year. I'm kind of glad he hasn't signed anyone because it proves his chops. This is typically the time of year when it all falls apart, yet here we are - with everyone else needing us to fall apart.

And Lijnders is not a world class head coach. That context makes it easier to understand why the level of coaching has taken a big step up and why many of the players have been waxing lyrical about it. Because really they’re experiencing a transition from Lijnders to Slot rather than from Klopp.
