Lot of people talking about others managers what can they do with such an unbalanced squad, the injury list, formation, The Jota effect etc. Some of them are fair enough but I would rather concentrate and things that can be done right now, like keep Grav deeper!!!?! Why the **** is he allowed to roam around the pitch this season? It's ridiculous, he crushed it last season sitting deep and mopping up, so eh yeah let's do the opposite that was so successful. Stop the slow passing around the box, this 'more control' nonsense and is literal bread and butter for high pressing teams, especially when you have likes of Konate and Kerkez who aren't great in the ball and a make shift right full. Also, use your ****ing squad and players that will run through a wall for you or you could completely ignore them and keep playing the same under performing players over and over and over again which shows a total lack of faith in your squad. I'm just a bloke talking ****e on the internet but ffs these are simple things that can be done immediately and should have been done by Slot.

This boils my piss, stop talking what you're going to do, want you want to do, what you should have done and just ****ing do it. Effort, work rate, heart and passion should be the bare minimum for a pro footballer. We need to win more duals is something that keeps being said, well win more duals then ffs.Originally posted by ronanm View Post

How baffling so our summer signings look right now. An unfit striker that is use to playing with fast wingers, being a focal point and running the channels, a rampaging left full (A bit dumb imo) who for some reason won't or isn't really allowed to go past the half way line, the hottest prospect in world football bought as a ten, the conductor, the pass before the pass that we score from has been said, 68% pass completion in his last 5 games, 0 goals, 0 assists in the league in nearly 700 mins of football & bounced around in every game he plays, Frimpong can't defend so can't play fullback, very light weight, never getting ahead of Szob at RM & never getting ahead of Salah at right wing. Ekitike has been decentish, the best of a bad bunch but I suspect more to come from him in the right setup. They all look so uncomfortable in our system but it seems to be a system that Slot is unwilling to change.
I do wonder who actually bought these players & just how much input Slot had? If he did sanction them and the result is square pegs in round holes & a complete unbalance in the team... that's not a good look for him & if the decisions went over his head & we just bought the biggest names (very Unitedesque) who were not necessarily the right fit for his system.. that is not a good look either, makes him look weak and completely undermines him... that ain't good either.
The problem though is that we currently have the players from last season, some top class, some world class all playing horrendously at the same time (Szob apart) and not only that they look lazy, fragile & frankly disinterested on times... some players have been a genuine disgrace to the shirt. Yes lots of individual errors but also a complete lack of fight and bollox and that is unacceptable. The bar minimum for any football regardless of form is put a shift in and get stuck in... literally the bare minimum. Yet everyone of them bar Szob( rest of the team should apologise to him at this stage) have been terrible in all aspects, so that suggests a real systemic issue within the collective. Only one man is responsible for that and doesn't seem to have a clue how to stop the rot.
If I was to hazard a guess how West Ham are going to play vs us, I would say exactly the way almost every other team has played against us, press high, play on the counter, target set pieces taaadaaaaa.Last edited by danperkins; 27-11-25, 01:49 PM.

It doesn't stop you running, it can be a big mental load to carry which in turn can make you physically tired and lethargic. I don't know enough about how such things can affect elite athletes, but when that extra 1 or 2 percent makes a big difference something like that can have a big impact.Originally posted by DerKrampus View PostIt doesn't stop them from running though does it?
Plus the system is ****e, zero runners, slowing it down, taking the safe option etc..
Looks at Olympiakos against Real, they put in early balls, made runs from deep etc. We could do that and create a bit more havoc. It's probably why Nunez's form fell off a cliff too - we weren't playing to his strengths either. It's why Ekitike and Isak will be flops unless we attack with more speed and commitment.
Is that the sole reason for this? No but as was said earlier it could have been the catalyst.
The manager is impacted too, but ultimately the buck stops with him and he needs to be doing more in terms of changing things from a football perspective, changing the tactics, go back to basics, drop some players, give them a kick up the arse or somethingThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yeah I agree.Originally posted by memzey View PostI really think he's cooked. It's just a matter of time and lining up a suitable replacement now. Things could move really quickly if the right manager becomes available.
I think it’s so bad now he pretty much can’t fix it, if he could surely he would have. When you are challenging worst run in 70 plus year records then it’s really challenging to see how he stops the rot.
Even if there were one or two signs over a period of 4-5 games but other than those two games v Madrid and Villa we’ve been absolutely shocking. When you factor in the games we did win we’re all mental last minute escapes then the trend goes on for a very, very uncomfortable period of time. And we are getting absolutely hosed in every game now.
I am reminded on Klopps comments when he first joined, on paper the squad is really strong… so suspect someone else will be tasked with getting a tune out of it.Modifying post.
