And while there at it scrap the second club idea.

    For what exactly?

A crap season to date? That can happen at clubs, even title winning clubs.

For a lot of players getting "old" at the same time? Happens to many clubs, hell it happened on Klopp's watch too.

For Salah's unprofessional and disappointing interview? Again nothing new in the game and for me it reflects more on the player in that moment than on the club, manager and back room folk.

Only thing the owners will want to know imo is what is being done to improve results and are those plans something that will happen quickly or is it a season long (maybe longer) repair job.

I’m not suggesting they should be sacked but things don’t look good at the club and they won’t be happy. Was it the preparation for the season, the players sold and signed. It’s only natural when there is such a big drop off. And the players that don’t get games or limited time, did the manager want them or not. What’s happened there. They got rid of Comolli pretty quickly after a couple poor transfer windows.

Obviously there is the loss of a Jota. We have no idea how it’s impacted the squad and I honestly don’t feel comfortable talking about it. It’s not my place.

We got told they didn’t sign a left sided attacker so they don’t block Rio but apart from a few games at the start of the season he’s not getting minutes. I know it’s difficult to play him right now but what would happen if Gakpo got injured. Chiesa can play there but doesn’t get significant minutes. Wirtz could do a job but again leaves the balance off with no width.

Ekitike was mentioned as being able to play there by Slot but hasn’t played there apart from as a sub. I get that with Isak and Ekitike you need to be careful and don’t want them playing together all the time because there aren’t any other options upfront.

I thought the squad looked great but we can all admit it’s a bit off and the balance isn’t right. Maybe they’ll fix that in January and it will start to click again. Let’s hope so.

I’m just frustrated with it all and there hasn’t really been any changes. We seem to be seeing the same thing apart from those two games against Villa and Madrid. When things like this happen we all look at everything and try and find a fix and the faults. It’s easy as fans to do that when we don’t know what’s really going on behind the scenes.

There are moments in games where you think it’s starting to look good but then the team just crumble under the slightest pressure which is one of the biggest worries for me. They’ve lost that strong mentality and fight.

I don’t think we have an ageing squad. Only Robertson, VVD and Salah are in that category. I won’t add Ali as keepers play a lot longer. Maybe Endo but does he count if he’s not playing.

Nothing to do with Salah that’s all on him being unprofessional and causing more problems. For someone who’s a leader and got upset when Trent got picked to captain ahead of him he’s not really showing captain qualities.

Edit - Looks like Gakpo has an injury and Chiesa as well. How unlucky is Chiesa We’ll find out what happens against Inter. Probably Wirtz.

What happens to Alonso is his problem. Prefer to see our guy get things right and we go on a steady run of good results.

Although I do think Slot is cooked and will be gone sooner or later.

Not me, I’m with Doc, I’d like to see Slot make things right and start next season (top 4 depending). But if we lose the next two games, I’m not sure that will be possible.

Putting aside Konate throwing away 2 points at Leeds for a minute, it looks like we may have started to turn things around, the Mo free approach might help sort us out, and on that basis, slot deserves a chance to show that it's a genuine improvement (or not). Having said that, patience is thin and a couple more **** games and id happily see xabi come in. I think he will get Wirtz and Frimpong firing at least.

Yeah I think Salah has inadvertently made the path forward a lot easier for Slot. But he has to deliver a bit of consistency with our results.

I think we owe slot the rest of the season as a minimum. Obviously that will change if and when it looks like we are really going to miss out on champions league for next season.

                                To do a fair appraisal on Slot, then the following has to be recognized;

                                1. Lfc have been left down by a lot of the senior pros this year - namely Salah, Virgil, Konate, Macallister as the main offenders. There has been a big fall off in the form of Gravenberch as well compared to last season. And Gakpo hasn't exactly stepped up either.
                                2. The new additions have not been integrated quickly. That wouldn't be such an issue if #1 above wasn't so impactful. But it has. Isak has been a ****in nightmare. So if Slot put his cock on the block and really pushed for Isak, then he will have to carry some of that burden. But if Isak was more of a "committee" signing, then the blame might be shared. I reckon he will be sold within 2 years for something similar to what Nunez went for. Again though, if #1 wasn't such a cluster****, then the impact of Isak being a bag-of-****e wouldn't be felt.
                                3. We didn't sign Guehi. What a difference this would have made. Not Arnes fault I don't think
                                4. We have been very unlucky with injuries. Leoni on his debut ffs. Also, Frimpong and Bradley both at the same time. ****in nightmare. Also, Allison with his annual autumn break.
                                5. The passing of Diogo. Hugely impactful to all of the squad.

So while Slot hasn't exactly torn it up this year, the above points are not his fault. So be careful what you wish for!! Personally I think a lot of his tactical moves this season have not been fantastic but it is easy to say that sat at home watching it on tv. After the Madrid and Villa games, I was sure that we were going to go on a bit of a run, beat Forest, West Ham, Sunderland and Leeds and then try to build some momentum. Had we won all of those games, then we would be 3 points behind Arsenal.

There is a problem with the team when they face adversity but against Forest we started pretty well. Macallister should have put us ahead. And then Konate ****in gave away a stupid corner. Against Leeds, we were flying and Konate ****ed it. He has gone so ****e that it is on Slot now if he keeps picking Konate. But again, we don't have the advantage of all of the data on Gomez.
