I don't know how much to make of this really, but I was a bit unhappy with the way Curtis spoke in the post match interview about teams like Sunderland coming to Anfield and basically not playing football like we'd like them to so we can beat them. Slot keeps ****in saying this too and while maybe it's this Dutch honesty thing, I'm a bit sceptical of the value of this message to the players or them parroting this low block stuff. Like surely, sort it the **** out Arne with your £100m+ players who are lauded the world over for their potential rather than creating a vibe where us failing to beat other teams is somehow on them not playing fair rather than us being kind of ****ing useless.

And Chiesa - he saved us from being beaten last night. Surely every manager at every level in the world sees that and uses that as the effort needed from everyone and plays him properly instead of being the ****in guy who gets 10 token minutes every game, as a kind of hail mary - like Slot thinks "well **** it I might as well throw this cunt on seeing as everything else has failed" Put him on at half time ffs, not Salah. And start him against Leeds fffffffffs.

I just don’t think Slot is going to get fired any time soon - not without a tier 1 replacement lined up at least

Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s with us till the end of the season

We have an attack that needs the ball to move really quickly up the pitch before space is closed down but all of our build up revolves around the back four tapping it around slowly, hoping that someone presses (they won't) or that moses steps out of the stands and creates a gap for us to play through. Even the midfielders are taking loads of unnecessary touches and looking sideways or backwards. At the start of the season slot talked about having more control in games but you don't need that kind of control to win games, especially when that control is just low quality possession.

We haven't seen that much from Wirtz, but it's obvious that he's a one touch king, he looks for first time passes, flicks and one/twos every time but there's never going to be space for him to work in when the opposition is set up in their defensive formation watching VVD and Macallister tap it between them. Isak is is leading the line in the middle but it's walking football so the CBs just crowd him and with an attacking three, there's nowhere else for him to go without threading on the toes of the wide attackers, and he can't drop deeper because that areas is already packed. They're both (and Frimpong and kerkes) ideal for heavy metal football but slot has chosen Aphex Twin football.

Think that is spot on. There is a serious lack of seemingly available top level guys at present and even a lack of available one level down guys to do an interim job.

If we want an interim then imo it has to be someone with experience and a track record of being able to settle a team into an established playing style quickly.

He'll 100% get fired when the fans start walking out in their droves

these guys aren't stupid, they will see whats going on.

The only thing delaying it would be if there is nobody able to come in thats on their list.

The way the players at Madrid are bitching and moaning about Xabi it seems he's a dead man walking now despite them being top.

                    Inzaghi seems the other candidate

No, Edwards has to find a solution.

What about Unai Emery anyone? Passionate fella and has managed at the top level.

                          No thank you.

Excellent coach but flamed out at Arsenal due to all the additional responsibilities that come with manager of a big club.

Is now successful at Villa because 1) he's a good coach and 2) a lot of the other responsibilties have been taken off him

watching Liverpool now is like watching England under Gareth Southgate...

After last nights performance I am resigned to the fact that Slott does not have any solutions to solve this. He's a nice feller, but we havent played well all season with exception to the real madrid game.

How much does a manager rely upon his coaches? Van Bronckhurst couldnt even win the league in scotland, and gerard did that twice...

He will be replaced as sonn as they find a replacement. This had got the decline of Rodgers all over it.
Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

I think he is a good coach and would be good for us. Arsenal bombed him out too soon and didn't give him 10% of the backing that Lego-head has seemed to be given

Alonso would be brilliant as well. The fact that he would build the team around Wirtz having worked with him before would also go in his favour no doubt. But even if he got sacked right now, then surely he wouldn't join lfc right away. He might be a bookmark for the summer though.

Slot can possibly still work this out. He has had the imperfect storm of a load of players falling out for form at the same time, we have had some bad injuries too. Our senior players have ****ed him over too this season imo and only Szoboslai can really hold his head high. Whereas last season, Virgil, Ibou, Macca, Mo, Diaz and Gravenberch were all ****in on it. That is some loss.

He needs to play on form though. Or he will lose his job.

Against Leeds, I'd like to see a defense of Robbo, Virgil, Gomez, Bradley. Midfield of Gravenberch and Jones with Szoboslai, Wirtz and Chiesa behind Ekitike.

Fair enough re Emery. I would like Alonso too, he will be a better manager for his Real Madrid struggles and has the gravitas you need to be truly successful at a very big club
