I was thinking more he’d have it out his system especially if he’s sacked after a short spell because of the egos in the squad.

TBF - thats on Hughes not on Slot, as much as Slot is on the hook for performances , Hughes is on the hook for squad balance

And not being able to sign Wirtz?

Guehi didn't play for Bayer Leverkusen.. There's a good chance we don't sign Wirtz if we didn't sell them Quansah.

And Guehi was delayed through no fault of ours - CP wanted to keep him and ultimately did. Seems to be paying off too!

In exactly the last calendar year we have won 26 out of 51 games

365 days between last December's 3-3 with Newcastle and yesterday's 3-3 with Leeds. 59 competitive games and 81 goals conceded

              That's some pretty damning statistics

I can't quite get my head round wanting the man who brought us our 20th league title gone, but I think I do

Those stats really don’t look good. At least last season we were able to grind out results even when not playing well but it feels like once his tactics were figured out he hasn’t been able to adjust enough and fix the weaknesses that have been exposed.

The team definitely isn’t lacking the quality to win against teams like Leeds even if they fight like hell for survival because those are the qualities the squad had in abundance. And had is the key there because that’s another quality that’s disappearing which is a big worry.

It's painfully obvious he needs to go, there is no way he can turn things around AND unite the dressing room. Worried that the Salah outburst made things more complicated regarding sacking him.
                  * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Maybe Salah is part of the issue....new players coming in, watching a player put in half a shift (if that....no tracking back, no pressing) and yet continually getting a starting spot at the expense of someone who might give their all. Has to be both confusing and demoralising.

Not knocking Salah, his past exploits for us have propelled us to great heights, but eventually time catches up with you and the gas in the tank runs low. Sad thing is, he could have walked away in January with his head held high, but seems to have chosen a different exit strategy.

Lots of new players, Jota's passing, injuries, failure to get Guehi

There are very valid reasons why we've struggled this season and I've been of the opinion that Slot needs more time and can turn it round

But its not just this season, we've been **** since the start of 2025 and whilst we walked the league to an extent, I'm now wondering how much of that was down to us or down the rest of the league being oddly ****e

The players we have should not be performing as badly as they are. You don't go from looking fabulous to suddenly losing the ability to play football

                        Correct

Slots job is solely to make sure that a successful team is made from the players provided. Liverpool have provided proven quality players, Slot needs to get them playing together.

I saw an interview with Gianfranco Zola who said that for his first season he struggled in England at Chelsea because the ball kept flying above his head. Once the team adapted and it was played to his feet things changed rapidly. I see this with Wirtz.

Isak will take some time to find his place. Gapko should be moved on. He has been exposed this season as a one trick pony.

Konate and Virgil are struggling with covering the Full backs.

The full backs are struggling with doing all the defending without Mo helping out.

Slot made some poor decisions on Saturday. Bringing on defensive players after going 2-0 up, shows fear. He should have gone for the jugular at that point with Isak and Salah.

I feel for Slot for what he achieved last year, converting Gravenberch into a No 6, adapting the Klopp style, and winning the league. He doesnt seem to have answers right now. But WE DON NOT WANT GERRARD NOW!!

and without being smart, dealing with all that is built into the job title of manager and sadly, Arne doesn't seem to be doing that. I know others on here have written very well about the effect Jota's death has had but there are people/managers who could use that in a positive way. I'm totally guessing here but I'm not visualising an emotive inspirational vibe from Arne. Sometimes it's events that decide your fate.

Our results were down to us and not the league being crap. That narrative about a week league always seems to raise it's head, mostly through idiots like Carragher and Neville on Sky, when we are strong and win a league.

It was said when Klopp won the league and it was said when Slot did. Funny how the seasons when City, Chelsea, Man U etc all were dominant in the league that the weak league theory never came up, it was instead all about how great the winning team was.

Don't hear any peeps from the media idiots about the league being weak this season, certainly not since Arsenal went top. It's all strongest league in the world stuff and no easy games comments.

As for our form being terrible from the start of 2025. Not having that either. Yes the final four games of the season (after the title was won were a cluster eff up with two losses and two draws from four games, but prior to that we had, between the 1st January and the 27th April, one loss from sixteen games in the league (11 wins, 4 draws and 1 loss).

Were we looking leggy performance wise with all the international games, CL games, FA and league cup games in 2025 added to the league games? Yes but results are what matter and based on those our form was good.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

There are a number of issues here but for me the death of Jota and the squad dealing with that is a massive one, that kind of situation is almost unprecedented and kind of feel the season is a write off.

I think that this has been posted before but it's worth a watch/listen to:

There are other issues in there too, lack of squad balance, trying to change so much of the playing squad, tactics, bad luck, bad individual errors etc. some of it is on the manager, but IMO alot of it isn't.

All three of Hughes, Edwards and Slot should be looked at by the owners.

Maybe you shouldn’t be letting Edwards hire his good friend no matter how well he did at Bournemouth.

And while there at it scrap the second club idea.
