Both Slot and Hughes are too smart and wise to get upset by this sort of stuff. I dont believe that Hughes would be allowed to get upset at the team that Slot picks, in the same way that Slot is not allowed to get upset at the players that Hughes brings in. I think this post is just speculation and probably would not have happened had Amorim or Maresca not moved on from their clubs.
Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

Buzzzo, you know Dox thinks he's top in the chain of command, you should really have addressed this to Rudedog or SB first

        Full article -

        • Slot's relationships with key dressing room figures have deteriorated significantly, with disputes involving Virgil van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister, Andy Robertson, Mohamed Salah, and Rio Ngumoha among others – described internally as reaching "a point of little to no return".

        • More alarmingly, tensions exist with sporting director Richard Hughes and CEO of Football Michael Edwards over squad planning, tactics, youth integration, rotation, and overall style of play.

        • A mutual understanding has long been in place that Slot will not be offered a new contract and will leave at the end of the season. However, the situation has escalated to the point where he is now "one more dispute away" from an earlier dismissal.

        • The club seriously considered sacking Slot after the 4-1 defeat to PSV, but held off due to limited immediate interim options (Gary O'Neil the only realistic short-term name at the time). As we said previously.

        • Steven Gerrard and Johnny Heitinga have been discussed as potential interim solutions should the situation worsen further.

        • Liverpool PR is expected to continue downplaying any internal conflict publicly.

Succession planning for summer 2026 is advancing rapidly behind the scenes. A pivotal period ahead at Anfield. More as it develops.

A heavy defeat to Arsenal could most definitely seal the Dutchman’s Faith.

The bit in bold is the concern. If he goes now, and assuming we don't have a magically available manager to come in; who takes charge in the short term?

That’s one thing Ove never really got from Arne that genuine connection between him and his squad. And to be honest there is nothing official in these rumours. But the levels of dissatisfaction are likely to be long standing and the proof of it is the genuinely baffling performances we have at times been delivering on the pitch.

It might be idealistic in some respects, but I don't think it is the wrong attitude to have either.

Commented quite a bit in recent times about how a number of players, mostly the senior ones, seems to be taking loads of touches and slowing the game down. Basically doing the bare minimum and screwing any player making runs ahead of them.

At the end of the day they are meant to be professional players capable of playing the game to a level that befits the big wages they demand, to the level of the egos they show.

Plenty of them have given it the big "I love the club and the fans" routine, so regardless of any issues they have with Slot, if any of what is being said is true and they are laying as they are to screw the manager, then **** them too as all they are doing is screwing the fans and then going back to bank their big wages.

We laugh when we see that kind of thing going on at clubs like Real Madrid. We condemn their players for being ego driven ****s when they do it. Well if our guys are doing similar now then they will earn the same scorn and be no better than the ones at other clubs that we all called ****s.

With regards to there never seeming to be a big connection between Slot and the players, I would tend to agree with that based on the little we can see from the outside. But at the same time that should not matter. Players should not need a best friend in charge of them and players should be professional enough to still be able to perform the basics well even when they are not happy with a manager.

There was a thing years and years ago on farms in Ireland when there was an issue with flocks of crows tearing at the coverings for bales. The farmer would then shoot a crow or two and hang them in plain sight as a deterrent for the other crows (Not really sure the crows were detered and instead not spurred on to detest said farmer as they have been proven to be able to remember individual faces and be aggressive to faces that belong to folk that were aggressive towards them but I digress).

My suggestion is we do likewise with any players doing a go slow. Hang the ****ers at the side of the training ground for a while and by the players entrance at the ground. That'll learn the ****ers.

And just to be fair, string up a few of Slot's backroom team to give him a similar kick up the arse.

          Murder****ingpool FC from now on.

What? Buzzo was being slack and lazy? String the prick up.

The who would come in now is a massive question though.

If it was someone like Klopp for six months or whatever then fine, but if it was a bum manager coming in, say someone like Gerrard or similar then no thanks.

Yeah they are our ‘****s’ tho so it is different, and if you can’t be totally one eyed on this kind of thing when it comes to football then when can you? it also depends who is leaking this info?

When it breaks down there is no fixing it and any sort of change he of leadership can be enough to stop it becoming toxic. There’s no suggestion that it is - but, there is no suggestion that it’s not either. There’s players don’t really tend to talk about Slot which is either telling… or not!

It feels like change is required. It feels similar to the end of Houlliers tenure - death by 1000 cuts.

There is definitely an imbalance in the squad/management dynamic.
This management group seem very cliquey, I'd doubt they have much of a relationship with the players.
We have lost our LFC identity at management level.

Manure have sacked amorim, but there is still an ex utd player there to step in, and looks to also be bringing another ex player as assistant.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

We said at the start of the season that Ngumoha and Nyoni are first team players, if that's the case and we were to send them out on loan that suggests we would need a couple of players to replace them is this Slot trying to push Hughes to be more active in the transfer market?

Squad is down to the bones those two might not be playing much but they are at least on the bench every week and we could use them if we needed/wanted to. If they leave on loan we are left with even more inexperienced kids on the bench

That's the issue isn't it? But if there is a massive rift in the dressing room between many of the players and the manager, it's not likely to get better keeping him around and trying to mediate without at least bringing someone else in as a buffer would seem like the minimum, more likely the manager will need to go (if it is an open secret that he is gone in the summer then they need to explore options).

Getting CL football for next season has to be top priority if the situation is as bad as is suggested the club need to weigh up whether they think the current (experienced) manager with an unhappy squad or a happier squad with a less experienced manager are more likely to make that happen.

or maybe the reason so many noses are out of joint is because they're not sure what to do with the ball because there's no plan, or because slot knows we're light on numbers and is trying to keep players off the treatment table.

i mean i'm fine to get rid of him, but any number of things could be issues.

I dunno. If the situation is as bad as is being made out (and not sure I buy that given the 'pro' point you made previously) then anyone is going to be better than a toxic dressing room where the players don't trust the manager. IF (massive if) the relationship has broken down entirely then I'd have almost anyone back in the short term

I don't buy that the players have downed tools specifically because of issues with Slot; but something ain't right. If he's gone in summer or dancing on thin ice, might as well cut the rope now and see what we can salvage

I’m no fan of Hughes, but if true, I’d agree with him here. I don’t see any anywhere forward for youth development with slot in charge apart from when it comes to throwing games.

i dunno that you can find a better manager for bringing through young players and making them feel strong and tall than klopp, we're spoiled there.

obv slot needs to at least do the bare minimum if he wants the job, but who else is even near klopp with being able to bring through young players in a team full of stars that normally competes for the biggest prizes?

                                genuine question.
