Bit any new manager is likely to get similar results. The squad is so unbalanced. It seems a hopeless situation for anyone to come into.

Yeah it's a valid point for sure, the squad is some unbalanced but this can't carry on. Whatever about the squad imbalance, the managers job is to get the best out of his players and apart from Szob and Hugo, nearly every other player from last season has been all over the shop. There is still abundant quality in the team and the question becomes, could another guy do better?

The players need to take responsibility for their performances. There is no doubt about that. They look so off the pace and while they are still out there trying to win which is the least you’d expect it’s not good enough right now.

But if they are being sent out there to play a way that doesn’t work and is not getting the best out of them it is on the manager.

I don’t know what to think or what the answer is. It’s a ridiculous drop off.

But when only a few players are performing it’s also on the manger. Injuries aren’t helping and you can look at the squad but he also refuses to use certain players making the squad smaller than it is. Some players are playing too much again this season.

How can so many players who performed so well last year, which Slot got the credit for, now completely drop off?

Is it the players or the manager. I mean both are true like Dan said but when it’s such a big drop and it’s almost all of them he needs to take the responsibility like he took the praise last season.

Maybe last season was the fluke and this is the true level. I'm not convinced we could get high-energy, effective pressing performances out of the majority of the team.

              We look weak and disorganised.

              That’s on the manager.

I said in the game thread as soon as the plan doesn’t work he just moves players around and a bunch of random subs that don’t always make sense and it’s hope for some individual brilliance. No plan B no formation tweaks just randomness and hope.

This also means we are so much more vulnerable late in games on the counter as no one is set in any structure to defend.

It's hard to shake that idea. Klopp's work prepared the team for a title challenge, and slots influence has made us continually worse. We won more of our points last season in the first part of the season when Klopp's messaging and coaching was most fresh, middle of the season was still good but not as good, late season was pretty crap. This season has been dog ****. Based on that we can expect to continue to get more and more ****

All of that may be nonsense, but maybe not.

Yeah said this myself, he's done it multiple times this season. It just stinks of pure desperation.

The problem for me is not just with the manager, he has to take alot of responsibility, but also the balance of the squad is off and that isn't just down to him, the guys like Hughes have a big responsibility for that. The issue of players he trusts or doesn't is complicated.

I admire what he did last year, some people are trying to revise history, he made alot of positive impact with his changes and tactics last season, but they have been way off this and he looks out of ideas.

He has got some stick for the unbeaten run, but for a short while after that horrific run of results that was what we needed for 4 or 5 games, but we needed to get that and build on it, and we just haven't. I don't like calling for LFC managers to go but we are playing awful football, we used to be great to watch now it's painful. Not sure if he has lost the players but I feel he has now started to lose the fans the booing last time out at Anfield is an indicator that it's not just the online fans but the match going fans, and I feel when you lose them there's no way back, it just feels like a matter of time.

I had thought that the club might want to keep him until the end of the season and there be an amicable parting of ways if we were able to get top 4, and while we are somehow still in that position now, we won't be by the end of the weekend, and the way back into those top 4 spots looks increasingly difficult with the sustained way we have been playing over recent months. For me it now seems like a question of when not if.

Question is do we really want Alonso as he is what is available now, there would be more options in the summer. Personally I am not sure about Alonso, his approach is somewhat similar to Slot rather than Klopp, but there would be a feel good factor at least in the short term if we went for him. Whether he is the answer long term who knows. Whoever comes in will be left with a small unbalanced squad so there will be no magic wand. Top four is the best we can hope for and that might be a stretch

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It's easy to be reactionary after a bad result or performance but we have actually played well maybe 2 or 3 times max this season, the squad is 100% unbalanced we've all said it, it's so obvious and that is on recruitment but we have so many top class players who are all playing poorly the entire season, it just doesn't add up, so it's the system or the manager or both. Either way something has to give.

It's almost like the players are picking where they want to play.
A good manager can move them around to refresh the team and make our play less predictable.

                            Slot can't

He wasn't though. That was one of his problems, hanging on to players for loyalty.
